Flexible cable for universal applications

This halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500 flexible cable is a reliable solution for a wide range of applications – from installations in buildings, through machines and equipment, to ship structures and renewable energy sources. It provides safe and long-lasting connections in static and dynamic conditions. The construction with 61 strands with a cross-section of 0.5 mm² allows for the transmission of control signals in complex systems.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by high flexibility thanks to the use of multi-wire copper strands twisted in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards. The strand insulation is made of a halogen-free polymer, which ensures safety in the event of a fire – minimizes the release of toxic gases and smoke (compliance with DIN VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1, IEC 60754-1 standards). The outer jacket is also made of a halogen-free polymer, providing additional protection against external factors. Black strands are clearly marked with white numbers (according to DIN VDE 0293), and the protective strand (in versions with it) is yellow-green.

Applications and compliance with standards

The MEGAFLEX 500 cable is used in the construction of machines and equipment, air conditioning systems, ship structures and wind turbines. It is suitable for both fixed installations and movable connections (with occasional movements without tensile stresses). It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939 / UL-Std. 758 standards, which confirms its high quality and safety of use. The cable has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. Additionally, it passed fire tests in accordance with DIN VDE 0482-332-3-24, BS 4066 part 3 and IEC 60332-3-24 standards.
