Flexible cable for universal applications

This halogen-free flexible cable, designated MEGAFLEG 500, is a reliable solution for electrical installations requiring high flexibility and safety. This cable is designed for a wide range of applications, both in fixed and mobile installations – provided there are no forced movements and tensile stresses. It is ideal for the construction of machines and equipment, air conditioning systems, ship structures and renewable energy installations.

Construction and properties

The MEGAFLEG 500 cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and safe operation. It is made of multi-wire, flexible copper conductor (class 5), insulated with a special halogen-free polymer. The conductors are twisted in parallel and marked with white numbers on a black background (with a yellow-green protective conductor in the 3-core version). The whole is surrounded by an outer jacket made of halogen-free polymer in gray (RAL 7001). The use of halogen-free materials minimizes the risk of toxic gases forming during a fire, increasing the safety of users and the installation.

This cable also has high resistance to:

In addition, the cable is resistant to corrosion caused by gases produced during combustion (according to NF X 10-702) and meets the requirements for low flammability and smoke density (IEC 60332-1-2, DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 standards).

Technical parameters and application

The MEGAFLEG 500 cable has a rated voltage of 500 V and an allowable operating temperature of -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and -30°C to +80°C (flexible). Its cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the outer diameter is approximately 5.3 mm. The minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x the diameter for fixed laying. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939 / UL-Std. 758, which confirms its high quality and safety. This makes it suitable for a variety of electrical installations where flexibility, safety and resistance to harsh environmental conditions are required.
