Flexible cable for chain guides – reliability in harsh conditions

This multi-core flexible cable, catalog number 21614, is a solution designed for demanding industrial and other applications. The HELUKABEL MULTIFLEX 512-PUR UL/CSA cable, made of high-quality materials, ensures reliable operation even in extreme conditions. Its construction and properties make it ideal for use in moving parts of machines, robotics and the oil and gas sector.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction. It is made of 12 copper strands, multi-wire with flexibility class 6 (according to DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228), which guarantees high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. The cores are insulated with special PP, and their color – black with white numbers – facilitates identification. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (in the version with a protective conductor), located in the outer layer of the core. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, resistant to abrasion, cuts, tearing and wear. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 16.9 mm.

It is worth paying attention to a number of important properties:

• Chemical resistance: the cable is resistant to oils, UV radiation, ozone, atmospheric conditions, hydrolysis and many chemicals (acids, alkalis, lubricants).
• Halogen-free: the materials used do not contain halogen, which increases safety in the event of a fire and minimizes the emission of toxic gases.
• Temperature range: the cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C during stationary operation and from -30°C to +90°C during flexible operation.
• Approvals and standards: the cable has UL/CSA certificates confirming its compliance with demanding safety and quality standards. It meets IEC 60332-1-2 and UL VW-1/CSA FT1 standards regarding fire resistance.
