The provided text is a technical description of a stainless steel reducer tee (316 stainless steel) used in the Geberit Mapress press system. It describes its configuration, material, application, and technical features.
The text is in Polish. Here is the English translation:
316 Stainless Steel in the Geberit Mapress Press System
A 22-18-22 mm configuration reducing tee made of CrNiMo 1.4401 (AISI 316) stainless steel belongs to the Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system – one of the most recognizable press connection systems on the installation market. The DN 20 / DN 15 / DN 20 design allows for a reduction in diameter at the branch without the need for additional reducers – a single component reduces the diameter from 22 mm to 18 mm at the connection point.
All three connections are made using press sleeve technology with M-profile jaws, allowing for fast and secure installation using standard press tools. The wall thickness of the connections is 1.2 mm for the main pipes (22 mm) and 1 mm for the reducing branch (18 mm). The working lengths of the individual connections are 16 mm (main and side connections) and 23 mm for the branch – these dimensions are important when planning the pipe insertion depth into the sleeve.
Press Technology and Control Functions
The Mapress system is based on press connections – pipes and fittings are joined by clamping a press jaw around the sleeve, creating a durable and leak-proof connection without welding, brazing, or threading. This significantly speeds up installation work, especially in enclosed spaces or where the use of open flames is prohibited.
The tee is equipped with two important control solutions:
- Pressindikator – an indicator informing of a correctly performed connection,
- Unverpresst undicht – if the fitting is not pressed, it remains leaky, which eliminates the risk of a hidden installation error.
Additionally, each press sleeve is closed with a transparent protective cap, which protects the interior from contamination before installation.
The seal is provided by a ring made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) – a material with good chemical and temperature resistance.
Working Pressure and Temperature Range
The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, which classifies this tee for a wide range of domestic and industrial installations. The manufacturer allows use in temperatures up to 120°C, which covers most typical heating and hot water installations.
Installation Applications
The Geberit Mapress reducing tee is suitable for residential construction, industry, and marine installations:
- Potable water – cold and hot domestic water installations,
- C.O. and C.W.U. – heating circuits and water heating,
- District heating – district heating networks up to 120°C,
- Refrigeration – cooling installations with water or glycol solutions,
- Sprinklers – fire protection systems,
- Compressed air – pneumatic installations (oil cleanliness class 0-3),
- Rainwater and process water – at pH > 6.0,
- Technical gases – inert gases (nitrogen), shielding gases for welding,
- Saturated steam – up to 120°C.
The product weighs only 103 grams, and the total length is 79 mm. The branch angle is a classic 90°, facilitating pipe routing in typical horizontal or vertical layouts.
