Cable halogen-free for electrical installations
The NHXMH-J 5x2.5 cable is a high-quality power cable designed for installations where enhanced fire resistance and the absence of toxic gas emission during combustion are required. Its construction, featuring copper conductors and halogen-free insulation, makes it a safe choice for both installers and end users. This cable is widely used in residential, commercial, and industrial construction.
Construction and application
The NHXMH-J cable consists of five copper conductors, each with a cross-section of 2.5 mm². Each conductor is insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), providing high resistance to mechanical and electrical damage. The conductors are twisted to minimize electromagnetic interference. The entire assembly is covered with an outer sheath made of polyolefin, offering additional protection against external environmental factors. Thanks to its properties, this cable is ideal for fixed installations requiring high reliability and safety. It is particularly recommended for use in public buildings, hospitals, schools, and other facilities with elevated fire safety requirements.
Safety and compliance with standards
The NHXMH-J cable complies with stringent safety standards, including EN 50267-2-2, which confirms its halogen-free nature. This means that during combustion, it does not emit toxic gases that could endanger health and life. Additionally, the cable meets EN 60332-1-2 regarding flame propagation resistance. Its fire reaction class is Dca-s1d0, guaranteeing limited flammability and low smoke emission. These properties contribute significantly to enhanced fire safety in buildings. The cable also features Class 1 conductors — single-wire — facilitating installation and ensuring good flexibility.
Important notes:
- The cable is designed for operation at a rated voltage of up to 500 V (600 V U₀).
- The maximum allowable operating temperature of the conductor is 70°C.
- The minimum bending radius during fixed installation is 132 mm — this must be considered when routing the cable through conduits or ducts.
- The cable has no screen or armor — therefore, it is not suitable for applications exposed to strong electromagnetic interference or mechanical damage.
- Cable conductors are color-coded for easy identification during installation.
