Application and Operation

The DR32GFLA 3-way mixing valve is designed for temperature regulation of water in heating and HVAC systems, combining the flow of hot water from the boiler (port A) with cooler return water from the circuit (port B) to generate the optimal temperature for the heating circuit (port AB). It operates stably even during buffer charging, maintaining a constant outlet temperature regardless of load variations. Ideal for systems equipped with circulation pumps and outdoor temperature-dependent control.

Construction and Material

The housing is made of GG 20 cast iron (GJL-200), ensuring corrosion resistance and long-term durability in humid conditions. The surface is protected by a primer coating – there is no lacquer or decorative finish, but sufficient protection against moisture in technical rooms. The connections are flanged; the external pipe diameter at all ports is exactly 32 mm, and the length of each connection is 80 mm – corresponding to standard DN 32 flange dimensions. All three ports are identical, allowing flexible installation – there is no defined "front" or "back"; they can be interchanged without changing the valve orientation.

Flow Characteristic and Safety

The flow characteristic is equal-percentage (logarithmic), meaning that changes in valve position proportionally affect the flow – making it easier to control via an actuator. The Kvs value is 16 m³/h, and leakage does not exceed 1% of this value at maximum differential pressure – ensuring precise stream separation without "leaks" between ports. The maximum operating temperature is 130 °C, the minimum is 2 °C – the valve tolerates both hot heating water and glycol mixtures up to 50%, in accordance with VDI 2035. The working pressure must not exceed 6 bar (PN6), corresponding to standard heating systems in residential and commercial buildings.

Installation and Compatibility

The valve does not have integrated fittings – installation is performed via flanges, which are clamped to the pipes using bolts. It requires an actuator with a torque of 20 Nm – typical for the VMM/VRM-N series from Resideo. The control lever rotates by 90° – a simple range of motion that facilitates integration with building automation. There is no possibility to connect a fourth port or install a tee – this is a pure 3-way mixing valve.

Warranty and Reliability

The manufacturer offers a 5-year warranty from the date of production – indicating high structural stability and material quality. A double O-ring seal on the control stem ensures low medium loss under normal operating conditions.
