Flexible cable for frequency inverters – reliability and safety
This double-shielded 1kV flexible cable, designated TF-EMV-UV-2XSLCH-J 4G16, is designed for demanding industrial applications, particularly for powering motors connected to frequency inverters. Its construction and materials guarantee high resistance to electromagnetic interference and ensure safe and efficient energy transmission. The cable is halogen-free, increasing safety in the event of a fire.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring long-lasting and reliable operation. It consists of four copper conductors with a cross-section of 16 mm², insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) rubber. The conductors are twisted concentrically and protected by a double shield – an aluminum tape and a tinned copper braid, which minimizes electromagnetic interference. The outer jacket is made of polyolefin, and the jacket color is black (RAL 9005). Thanks to the use of XLPE as conductor insulation, the cable can operate at temperatures up to +90°C, allowing for a higher current load compared to cables with PE insulation.
This cable meets the requirements of standards regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) according to EN 55011 and DIN VDE 0875 part 11. It is also self-extinguishing and flame-retardant according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1. The materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting.
