This ensures the installer that the pipe has been inserted to the full depth, which is a necessary condition for achieving a leak-tight connection.

Material and resistance to operating conditions

The primary material is alloy (carbon) steel, which after surface treatment receives an electrolytic zinc coating. Such a coating protects against corrosion in moderately aggressive environments typical for water supply or heating installations. However, it should be noted that the product does not carry UL or FM certifications, meaning its use in specific industrial installations with heightened safety requirements (e.g., in explosion-hazardous zones) requires individual verification of compliance with local standards.

The coupling is designed for operation at a working pressure of up to 16 bar at 20°C. This is a standard parameter for many sanitary and industrial installations. The absence of seals within the coupling structure itself means that leak-tightness depends solely on the correctly executed metal-to-metal connection and the quality of the crimp. In applications requiring seals (e.g., medical gases), it must be ensured that the crimping system uses appropriate dies and procedures for the specific medium.

Construction and key dimensions

The product has a simple shape and is manufactured as a single-piece component, eliminating the risk of play resulting from multi-component assembly. Its total length is 58 mm with an outer diameter of 28 mm on both sides of the connection. This construction ensures that the coupling does not reduce the pipe diameter – it is a standard straight coupling joining two pipe sections of identical cross-section. The external surface is protected by electrolytic zinc plating, while the interior remains in the raw (steel) state, which is standard for this type of steel fitting.

Installation requires the use of a dedicated hydraulic or manual crimping tool for the 28 mm steel pipe crimping system. The process involves inserting the pipes from both sides of the coupling until they stop against the collar, followed by performing a single crimping cycle. Thanks to its single-chamber construction and absence of moving parts (such as valves or air vents), the coupling is a durable and maintenance-free component once installed.
