Application and Performance in Demanding Conditions

This double-pass plate heat exchanger is a solution designed for installations requiring not only high thermal power but also resistance to extreme operating parameters. Thanks to its copper-brazed construction and the use of stainless steel, the unit operates effortlessly at temperatures reaching up to 230 °C and at a working pressure of up to 30 bar. This is a key feature for high-parameter heating systems, heat pumps, or industrial installations where standard solutions might not withstand the loads.

The specific double-pass model configuration (designation 2S) enables higher heat exchange efficiency under more demanding flow parameters. The optimal shaping of flow channels provides an interesting compromise: on one hand, flow resistance is kept at a low level, reducing the load on circulation pumps, while on the other, flow turbulence is sufficient to prevent the deposition of impurities inside the channels. As a result, the exchanger maintains high efficiency over a long period, even with lower-quality water.

Construction and Corrosion Resistance

The material used is decisive for the durability of the entire system. The entire unit, including the exchanger plates and connections, is made of stainless steel. In the case of this model, we are dealing with a version equipped with six stainless steel flanges (DN80), which significantly facilitates installation in large industrial or commercial installations. Such material selection guarantees high corrosion resistance, which is particularly important in cooling or heating systems with aggressive working media.

The tightness of the construction is not a matter of chance – it results from the brazing process carried out in a vacuum furnace. The permanent bonding of the plates eliminates the risk of micro-cracks and ensures reliability over years of operation without the need for gasket maintenance (which simply do not exist). It is also worth noting the compact dimensions for such high thermal loads: with a height of 788 mm and a width of 310 mm, the unit occupies relatively little space in the boiler room or technical room.

Installation and System Flexibility

For the installer, ease of integration with existing infrastructure is crucial. The exchanger has nominal diameter DN 80 connections on both the primary and secondary sides, manufactured as stainless steel flanges (according to ETIM data: external thread as the main connection type, but physically these are DN80 flanges). Such a configuration allows for quick connection to steel pipelines or other system elements without the need for additional low-quality reducers or adapters.

The unit is also prepared for installation in thermal insulation cladding ("For insulation cladding: yes"), which allows for minimizing heat losses directly at the heat exchange source and meeting rigorous building energy standards. Simple installation and removal (in case cleaning or replacement of the entire unit is necessary) and the possibility of choosing single- or double-pass versions make this model very flexible in terms of HVACR system design.

The practical significance of these features manifests in daily operation: the high operating temperature of up to 230 °C makes it an ideal candidate for steam systems or high-temperature heating installations, while resistance to 30 bar pressure guarantees safety in closed systems with high hydraulic loads. The double-pass construction increases heat exchange efficiency even with a lower flow rate of the working medium, which translates into lower energy costs for circulation pumps. The use of stainless steel ensures long-term operation in corrosive and refrigeration environments, while DN80 flanges enable quick installation in large industrial installations without the need for additional reduction adapters.
