Application and Operating Principle in Ventilation Systems
The 6000 W electric duct heater is designed for direct installation in circular ventilation ducts with a diameter of 400 mm. The device is used to heat air in mechanical supply ventilation systems, which is crucial during winter periods or for maintaining a constant room temperature. Thanks to its design, it is also suitable for technological processes requiring the delivery of air at a stable temperature.
It should be noted that the heater does not operate independently – it must be supplied with an adequate airflow. The flow velocity through the device should not be lower than 1,5 m/s, which prevents overheating of the heating elements. It is recommended to select the device so that the outlet air temperature does not exceed 40°C. This parameter ensures installation safety and user comfort.
Construction and Operational Safety
The device housing is made of powder-coated steel sheet, ensuring corrosion resistance and durability under demanding operating conditions. The heating elements are made of stainless steel, which increases their service life and resistance to high temperatures.
Operational safety is guaranteed by a double overheating protection system:
- Automatic shutdown upon reaching +75°C – the device automatically resumes operation after cooling down.
- Protection with manual reset at +85°C – requires service intervention or user action after detecting a fault or excessive temperature.
This two-stage protection minimizes the risk of installation damage or fire in case of airflow disturbances.
Installation Conditions and Key Features
The device requires a three-phase power supply of 3x400 V, which is standard for heaters of this power (6 kW). Inside, there are 3 heating elements with a total power of 6 kW (3 x 2 kW). Installation is performed directly in a circular duct with a diameter of 400 mm, facilitating integration with existing ventilation infrastructure without the need for additional transitions or reducers.
Key device parameters include a connection diameter of 400 mm and a heating power of 6 kW. Power supply is provided at 3 x 400 V, and the construction is based on three heating elements, each rated at 2 kW. The housing is made of powder-coated steel sheet, while the heating elements are made of stainless steel to enhance durability. The safety system includes double overheating protection: automatic at +75°C and manual at +85°C. To ensure proper operation, a minimum air flow velocity of 1,5 m/s must be maintained, and the maximum outlet air temperature should not exceed 40°C.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and standard duct connection, installation should not pose a problem for the installer. However, proper sealing of connections and ensuring free airflow around the heater must be ensured to avoid local overheating. The device holds CE conformity certificates and PZH hygiene approvals, confirming its safety for use in public and industrial facilities.
