5-row Volta Hager switchboards

Hager offers a small, five-row electrical switchgear enabling the correct installation of equipment with a total volume of 60 modules. The switchgear has been designed for flush mounting and in frame walls.

Which switchboard should I choose for 60 modules?

In accordance with the PN-HD 60364-4-41:2009 standard regarding protection against electric shock, low-voltage electrical installations should be equipped with highly sensitive residual current circuit breakers with a rated current not exceeding 20 A. Currently, such circuits are the equipment of most apartments and houses. . Residual current protection devices require more space in the electrical switchboard than standard overcurrent protection devices. Therefore, Hager was the first manufacturer to offer a five-row, small switchgear enabling the correct installation of equipment with a total capacity of 60 modules.

The Hager 5x12 switchgear has been designed for flush mounting and in stud walls. The increased amount of space ensures user safety and at the same time provides comfort when installing equipment inside the switchgear. In addition to additional mounting space, the new 5-row designs provide all the existing benefits of the proven and tested Volta series solutions. These are various functions that speed up and facilitate installation.

An additional convenience for installers is the standardly installed spirit level, which makes installation more efficient and precise

A particularly large connection space, equipped with QuickConnect self-clamps and holders for fastening cables in the side parts of the switchgear, allows the switchboard to be wired at the highest technical level in a transparent and safe manner. Comb hooks located in the lower and upper parts of the switchgear enable mechanical fastening (with cable ties) of cables, which is particularly important in the case of installation in stud walls.

An additional convenience for installers is the standardly installed spirit level, which makes installation more efficient and precise. A special support clip mounted on the switchgear door, where we can place electrical documentation, is also helpful. If it is necessary to mount the switchgear in a recess with a smaller depth than recommended for installation, it is possible to use special elements enabling installation in a recess with a depth of 72 mm. In order to confirm safety, Volta switchboards have been tested in accordance with PN-EN 61439-3: Panel switchboards intended for operation by unauthorized persons.

According to the cited part of the standard, DBO panel switchboards should have the strength of IK05 for indoor applications and IK07 for outdoor applications. Volta meets the IK07 durability requirement. It has also been tested for overvoltage category III, which means it can withstand a voltage impulse of 4 kV. This parameter is important for the proper selection of surge protectors.

In addition to additional installation space, the new 5-row designs offer all the previous benefits of the proven and tested Volta series solutions.

Hager Volta electrical switchgear housing - execution

The material from which the switchgear housing is made affects the aesthetics, comfort of use and safety. Volta flush-mounted switchboards are equipped with a metal door with a frame, which can be manufactured from powder-coated sheet metal as standard. Modern transparent versions are also available, made of stainless steel or aluminum, or special ones, with space for a photo or a map of the escape route.

The internal part has protection against electric shock, providing a second, increased degree of insulation. In switchboards mounted in frame walls, it is necessary to use housings made of special material. Such switchgear is tested using the glowing wire method to a temperature of 850°C in accordance with the EN 60695-2-1 standard. This condition is met by the material used in Volta switchboards in the VHxxx version. However, models for installation in flame-retardant walls are tested using the glowing wire method up to 650°C.

Switchboards must be checked for mechanical strength each time, in accordance with the EN 50102/A1 standard. It is worth adding that out of concern for the natural environment, Hager uses types of polystyrene with a low halogen content. All products meet ROHS and WEEE requirements.

Electrical switchboard 5x12 Hager Volta

Several years ago, Hager developed a solution for the special requirements of telecommunications installations in multi-family buildings and single-family houses. The Volta multimedia product series is also available in a 5-row version. Volta 3-, 4- and 5-row multimedia switchboards are now standardly equipped with a 12-seater patch panel for ICT modules, perforated mounting plates and triple, rotating 230 V power sockets.

The patch panel enables the installation of telecommunications modules in accordance with the MTBiGM regulation (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 1289) and home telecommunications installation modules. Passive or active telecommunications devices can be mounted on perforated steel mounting plates. In the lower part of the switchgear housing there are three 230 V grounded sockets. Each socket can be freely turned, thus avoiding collisions with adjacent plugs and power supplies. It is also possible to install another patch panel for additional modules.

Volta electrical switchboards are standardly white. The doors can be mounted on the right or left side and are equipped with ventilation holes. Thanks to the connectors, electrical and telecommunications switchboards can be mounted flush next to each other in horizontal or vertical construction.

People who particularly pay attention to harmony and aesthetics inside the room will undoubtedly appreciate the possibilities offered by the style of Volta switchboards. A unified color palette, adapted to current trends, perfectly matches the color palette and accessories of the polo.fiorena series. Volta 3-, 4- and 5-row multimedia switchboards are now standardly equipped with a 12-seater patch panel for ICT modules, perforated mounting plates and triple, rotating 230 V power sockets.
