Simet PDD60 boxes for plaster and wood walls

Coming from other geographical areas and cultures, construction using frame structures is developing dynamically. Only a few decades ago, it was occasionally used for simple projects, such as summer houses, allotments or wooden religious buildings, but now it is a widely used, professional form of residential, industrial and office buildings.

This most often applies to objects that in the construction industry are conventionally called wooden houses, although the materials used for their prefabrication do not come only from forests. The technologies used there are among the most advanced, combining low costs, speed of execution and comfort of use.

Electrical Installations

In frame structures, i.e. the so-called empty walls (ultimately filled with insulating materials), the method of installing installations under plasterboard or wainscoting walls is the most popular in our country. Plasterboard walls are a convenient and flexible system of internal partitions and load-bearing wall coverings, which provides convenience in many aspects of construction - including the distribution of electrical installations. It is obvious that it is easier to run cables under plasterboard than to forge a solid wall to embed the installation.

One of the main elements ensuring convenient distribution of cables in such walls are electrical installation boxes . They are a reflection of the previously adopted electrical installation method. However, the presented box differs from the principles of assembly and installation adopted here.

New structures, new technologies in electrical installations

simet pdd60 wood boxes extended collar The system of junction boxes for hollow walls, which is common in Europe and uses fastening hooks, can no longer guarantee optimal distribution of the electrical installation everywhere.

This usually convenient and quick installation method - which involves embedding the boxes in empty walls on structurally ready objects - works when plasterboard walls or wainscoting are already attached to load-bearing elements.

A completely different electrical installation culture was adopted in the Scandinavian countries. There, the installation distribution system is based on different principles. The installation technology involves mounting it on still exposed load-bearing walls, to which the boxes are attached, and the cables between them are run in protective pipes. It is a relatively expensive system, but very flexible and solid. It allows you to "add wires" to a previously existing installation by pulling them inside pipes and boxes. The box in question is a compilation of these two installation solutions.

Box for empty walls

simet pdd60 wood boxes, assembly with extended screws PDD60 can   is a specialized electrical installation box for empty walls. Its special feature is installation in a plasterboard or wainscoting wall, with embedding and fastening it from the inside of the wall. After drilling a Ø 68 mm mounting hole, the box is screwed to the plasterboard or wainscoting using four screws. The extended can flange enters the hole to a depth of 12 mm. The box can be deepened using a PD60 x 30 spacer ring or the accessories can be attached with extended 25 mm or 40 mm screws when the wall thickness significantly exceeds 12 mm, making it impossible to attach a connector or socket.

The opening bottom of the box allows for efficient cable entry, and the sides of the box allow for access from each side with 2 pipes or conduits (max. 20 mm). You can also insert wires directly into the box, preferably round ones, because then they fit tightly inside the box. This product is particularly useful in technological processes used in the production of wooden houses, i.e. where the electrical installation is distributed before the internal walls are attached to the house structure. The box is made of the highest quality material in terms of electrotechnics. Its properties: halogen-free, self-extinguishing and high resistance to heat guarantee safe installation in flammable walls.
