A garden irrigation system includes a series of interconnected devices and accessories. When the garden hose you use is too short or damaged, you can connect it to another hose – either permanently or reversibly. Various types of connectors provide convenient and quick connections for garden hoses. If you want to create a detachable connection, you will need special connectors called splitters. Learn about the main applications of these clever connectors and find out which splitter for garden hoses will work best in your garden.

Application of reducing couplers in the garden
In gardening works related to water, various types of connectors and connections are used. Among them, the two-piece connector plays an important role. Two-piece connectors for garden hoses allow for their detachable connection. This means that the hoses connected in this way can be quickly and easily disconnected at any time - without the use of tools. Modern mechanisms in connectors make it easier to connect and disconnect garden accessories.
Of course, the connection obtained is (or at least should be) 100% tight. A detachable connection is usually intended to increase the reach of the garden hose and its trouble-free connection to the water intake. To connect two hoses using a splitter, a quick connector must be mounted on each end. A special version of the connector is the reducing splitter . It is used for a detachable reduction connection of a hose, e.g. 1", with a hose with a quick connector mounted, the diameter of which is larger, e.g. 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" (depending on the selected model).
By using reducing couplers, you can connect several garden hoses of different cross-sections in series in your irrigation system. This will prevent leaks and will reach plants in the farthest corners of the plot with water. This is a remedy for a large or complex garden.
Brass Garden Hose Splitters
Garden hose splitters are most often made of plastic, e.g. polypropylene or ABS, or metal, e.g. brass. In both cases, they can be durable, practical and solidly finished products. However, brass splitters offer maximum durability. These are the highest quality connectors, designed for reliable and long-term operation in difficult environmental conditions. Brass connectors are suitable for connecting elements of irrigation systems for small, medium and large gardens and crops, where absolute tightness of the installation and cleanliness of the transported water are required.
They are used to create solid connections not only in plumbing systems, but also in heating and gas systems. Thanks to additional coatings, such as galvanizing, these elements are resistant to the destructive effects of atmospheric factors. They do not corrode, do not react with water or absorb odors. In addition, the copper contained in the composition has antibacterial properties. The only disadvantage of brass splitters is probably the price, which is (at least) twice as high as plastic models.
In the brass version, you can currently buy not only two-way connectors, but also all other garden hose connectors, such as repairers, tees or tap connectors.
