When renovating non-pressure sewage pipes and repairing damage, installers rely on products that are easy to use on site - for example, when connecting pipes with different outside diameters and materials. Funke offers a quick-to-install and tight solution: the FHS® 40 – 110 mm connector. It can be used both inside and outside buildings. Due to the great flexibility, the use of only three FHS® connectors is sufficient to cover the entire range of nominal diameters from 40 to 110 mm.
FHS connector - suitable for all pipes made of various materials
The grey-red-gray FHS® Funke connector is tested according to PN EN 16397. It withstands a test pressure of 1.5 bar. Depending on the scope of fastening, connections of pipes with different external diameters and/or different nominal diameters are possible, e.g. HT pipes DN 40 (outer diameter 40 mm) can be connected to SML pipes DN 50 (outer diameter 58 mm).
Installing the FHS Funke connector
The FHS® connector can be installed both horizontally and vertically and can be used in the ground or under plaster. Pipes from all common materials can be connected, such as cast iron, steel, PP, PE, PVC, stoneware and other smooth or corrugated pipes with external diameters from DN 40 to DN 110. The FHS® coupling is available in three sizes for a clamping range from 40 to 65 mm, 50 to 80 mm and 75 to 110 mm.
FHS connector - structure
The FHS® connector consists of a special EPDM gasket, two mounting clamps and a three-piece, adjustable body made of impact-resistant plastic segments that are jointed. Due to its structure, the plastic body ensures that the compressive forces are distributed evenly around the entire circumference of the joint during assembly. Thanks to this, the seal does not wrinkle or curl. Due to its design, the connector is very flexible, has high resistance to shear forces, perfectly protects the pipes and allows for a very large reduction.
The special plastic construction and internal rubber sleeve enable trouble-free connection of pipes with different external diameters. This solution guarantees perfect embedding and matching of the structural element to the geometry of the existing pipeline. After manually tightening the plastic segments, the joint adapts to the shape of the connected pipes. The required tightness is ensured by a rubber cuff.
