Work footwear should provide maximum protection against mechanical injuries or various substances. It should undoubtedly be adapted to the work environment. Therefore, in the case of low temperatures, insulation is necessary, while in high temperatures, you should choose footwear made of polyester and cotton, because these materials allow the skin to breathe. As a rule, work shoes are supposed to provide protection, but also comfort. The heel must fit the shoe, and the insole should be half a centimeter longer than the foot, so the shoes cannot be too small or too large. Pressing the feet is also undesirable as it may cause them to swell.
The work of a plumber or electrician often requires the use of heavy tools, and the working environment may be changeable. In such a case, it is best to choose work shoes such as low shoes or ankle boots that have a toecap that can withstand impacts with a certain energy, e.g. 100 J or 200 J. Such work shoes should also provide protection against compression. We cannot forget how important the sole is. You can choose one made of single-density polyurethane. It is characterized by thermal resistance up to 100 degrees Celsius. An alternative is double density polyurethane. Thanks to it, even greater mechanical resistance of the footwear is achieved. Soles are also available with a combination of light polyurethane and nitrile rubber. This provides even greater resistance to chemicals and high temperatures. Properly selected work footwear increases safety even during difficult or demanding work. Security and health and safety are at the highest level.
Work shoes - which ones to choose for an electrician and which ones for a plumber
Installers often perform extremely complex work in hazardous or high-risk environments, which is why it is necessary to wear appropriate work shoes. For example, models made of velvet and polyester are extremely durable, but also comfortable. It is amagnetic footwear, which means it does not contain metals and does not attract electricity. It is important that it additionally absorbs energy in the heel.
Footwear should also have a lining with high vapor permeability. Composite work shoes do not conduct heat or cold, so they do not additionally cool or overheat the feet. Therefore, it increases the comfort of working in unfavorable conditions. You can also choose footwear with a sole injected with uniform density polyurethane.
For work in dry environments 
shoes with a suede or cotton finish will work best. However, higher shoes are better used in more difficult working conditions, and they should meet the most restrictive standards, such as S1P or S3. The first standard requires that footwear has toe caps and anti-perforation insoles.
Therefore, it will work well as an electrician, while the S3 standard means that the footwear is resistant to water and does not let it through or absorb it. This makes it the best choice for a plumber to work with. We must not forget that in difficult conditions or during earthworks, leather footwear, e.g. insulated boots, will work best.
It's good if they are waterproof and the water resistance is of the highest class, i.e. third class. Such footwear should be made of two-layer polyurethane of varying density, which overlaps the toe. This way you gain even greater reliability. Leg protection often requires the use of additional accessories such as knee pads, which are required by occupational health and safety regulations when working on the knees.
Work footwear should be adapted to the type of work performed. Therefore, not only the quality is important, but also the material and additional degrees of protection, for example in the form of an anti-perforation insert or a metal or composite nose. Footwear should not be glued, sewn work footwear will work much better. For even greater safety, it is worth using footwear with ankle stabilization.
