As of July 1, 2024, Poland has seen significant changes to gas and electricity tariffs. These changes will affect the cost of heating homes, and the new rates will be of great importance to users of various heating systems.

Increase in prices of media for home heating
In the case of natural gas, both the fuel price and the rate for its distribution have increased by about 19%. In turn, electricity prices for households will remain frozen until the end of 2024 at the level of 50 groszy net. Importantly, the limits on the consumption of cheaper energy have been abolished, which means that all energy used in homes will be settled based on the new rate of the frozen price.
This change will mainly benefit households with higher electricity consumption in the G11 tariff, which exceeded the consumption limit set for cheaper energy. In the first half of 2024, when the limit for cheaper energy was 1,500 kWh, the frozen rate for energy up to the limit was about 40 groszy net, and after exceeding the limit, the price per kWh was 70 groszy.
In turn, from July 2024, this frozen rate was increased from 40 to 50 groszy, but thanks to the abolition of the consumption limit for this rate, households consuming more than 3,000 kWh/year will see a real reduction in their bills. As PORT PC reports, this is good news for heat pump owners.
