Brass or PPSU?

KAN-therm ultraPRESS is one of the most popular pipe systems. The connectors offered as part of the system are available in two material versions - with a PPSU body and a brass body. This allows you to choose your preferred installation solution: mixed or homogeneous.

Simple and quick connection process

  1. Cut the pipe perpendicular to its axis.
  2. Insert the pipe into the fitting until it is visible in the inspection holes.
  3. Carry out ironing.

The connection is made faster than in the case of the traditional pipe pressing process due to the possibility of omitting the stage of chamfering the inner edge of the pipe.

Water quality from the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system

It is worth additional attention that all brass fittings available in the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system offer meet the requirements of the 4MS Common Approach, aimed at eliminating heavy metals from drinking water.

The connector body is made of high-quality brass, resistant to dezincification and with a low content of heavy metals, including: nickel, guarantees chemical neutrality in contact with drinking water.

High durability and compatibility of KAN-therm ultraPRESS connectors

ultraPRESS connectors are designed to work with PERTAL and bluePERTAL pipes, i.e. pipes with an aluminum layer. The designers from KAN also made sure that they are compatible with pipes with an EVOH layer, such as bluePERT, PERT and PEXC. The highest quality materials used in the ultraPRESS structure ensure a very high level of hygiene and aesthetics of the installations and enable their operation in contact with glycol mixtures.

One feature unique to ultraPRESS fittings is controlled leakage, known as LBP (Lake Before Press). Thanks to this function, an unpressed connector leaks not only during the pressure test, but also when filling the installation with water. According to the guidelines of the DVGW (German institute that sets standards in the field of installation technology), in the pressure range from 1 to 6 bar, at least one drop of water should appear on the unpressed connector per second. The LBP function prevents unpressed fittings from being left in the installation, which may at some point cause a serious failure and flooding of the premises if the pipe slips out of the fitting due to changes in pressure and temperature in the installation.

It is worth mentioning the versatility of the KAN-therm ultraPRESS fitting clamp, which is adapted to pressing with two types of jaw profiles: "U" or the more universal "TH". This is a unique solution in KAN-therm ultraPRESS pipe systems . The shape of the press sleeve (with a "turn" at the end) ensures precise positioning of the jaw, especially in the case of the "U" profile, where in other systems the jaw can be arranged in any way and makes the connection incorrectly.

KAN-therm ultraPRESS connector design

Press/Push brass transition connector - 16/18x2.5 1009042145 The structure of KAN-therm ultraPRESS fittings includes a plastic mounting ring that acts as a dielectric spacer (the aluminum of the pipe does not have direct contact with the brass of the connector). Additionally, the connectors are available in different colors, which allows you to quickly identify the diameter and helps avoid mistakes when shopping or collecting materials from the warehouse.

It is worth noting that the presence of control holes is extremely useful in determining the depth of installation of the pipe in the fitting. In some systems that use translucent rings, viewing may be less comfortable, especially in poor lighting conditions at the work station.

To sum up, the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system ensures the highest quality of installation while maintaining a reasonable price.
