Brass or PPSU?
KAN‑therm ultraPRESS is one of the most popular pipe systems. The connectors offered within the system are available in two material versions – with a PPSU and brass body. This allows you to choose the preferred installation solution: mixed or homogeneous.
Simple and fast connection process
The technique of making connections using the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system is simple and fast. It can be described in a few steps:
- Cut the pipe perpendicular to its axis.
- Insert the pipe into the fitting until it is visible through the inspection holes.
- Carry out the ironing.
The connection is made faster than in the case of the traditional pipe pressing process due to the possibility of skipping the step of chamfering the inner edge of the pipe.
Water quality from the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system
It is also worth noting that all brass fittings available in the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system meet the 4MS Common Approach requirements, which aim to eliminate heavy metals from drinking water.
The body of the connectors is made of high-quality brass resistant to dezincification and with a low content of heavy metals, including nickel, which guarantees chemical neutrality in contact with drinking water.
High durability and compatibility of KAN-therm ultraPRESS connectors
ultraPRESS connectors are dedicated to work with PERTAL and bluePERTAL pipes, i.e. pipes with an aluminum layer. KAN designers also made sure that they were also compatible with EVOH-coated pipes such as bluePERT, PERT and PEXC. The highest quality materials used in the ultraPRESS construction ensure a very high level of hygiene and aesthetics of the installations and enable their operation in contact with glycol mixtures.
The precise workmanship of the elements guarantees their high mechanical strength and the use of special solutions protects against electrochemical corrosion. One of the unique functions of ultraPRESS fittings is controlled leakage, known as LBP (Lake Before Press). Thanks to this function, an unpressed fitting shows a leak not only during the pressure test, but also during the filling of the installation with water. According to the DVGW guidelines (a German institute setting standards in the field of installation technology), at least one drop of water per second should appear on an unpressed fitting in the pressure range from 1 to 6 bar. The LBP function prevents unpressed fittings from being left in the installation, which can at some point cause a serious failure and flooding of rooms if the pipe slides out of the fitting due to changes in pressure and temperature in the installation.
It is worth mentioning the versatility of the KAN-therm ultraPRESS fitting clamp, which is adapted to be pressed with two types of jaw profiles: "U" or the more universal "TH". This is a unique solution in the KAN-therm ultraPRESS pipe systems . The shape of the pressed sleeve (with a "flange" at the end) ensures precise positioning of the jaw, especially in the case of the "U" profile, where in other systems the jaw can be arranged in any way and incorrectly performs the connection.

Construction of KAN-therm ultraPRESS connectors
The construction of KAN-therm ultraPRESS fittings includes a plastic mounting ring that acts as a dielectric spacer (the aluminum of the pipe does not have direct contact with the brass of the fitting). Additionally, the fittings are available in different colors, which allows for quick identification of the diameter and helps avoid mistakes when shopping or collecting materials from the warehouse.
It is worth noting that the presence of inspection holes is extremely useful in determining the depth of the pipe in the fitting. In some systems, where semi-transparent rings are used, observation may be less convenient, especially in poor lighting at the work station.
To sum up, the KAN-therm ultraPRESS system ensures the highest quality of installation while maintaining a reasonable price.
