Wika brand pressure gauge

Bourdon tube manometers are the most commonly used mechanical pressure measuring devices. Their pressure element is usually called a Bourdon tube: the French engineer Eugène Bourdon used this solution in the mid-19th century. It is based on a flexible spring and a bent C-shaped tube with an oval cross-section.

Bourdon tube manometers are used to measure relative pressure from 0.6 ... 7000 bar. They are classified as mechanical pressure measuring devices because they operate without power supply voltage.

Standard Bourdon tube pressure gauges

Standard Bourdon tube pressure gauges are suitable for liquid or gaseous media that are not very viscous or crystallizing, provided they do not have a corrosive effect on copper alloy parts. Their measurement range is 0.6 ... 1000 bar.

Bourdon tube pressure gauges with increased corrosion resistance

Bourdon tube pressure gauges with increased corrosion resistance are made entirely of stainless steel. They are suitable for measuring pressures from 0 to 0.6 and up to 0... 7000 bar in liquid and gaseous media that are not viscous or crystallizing, also in aggressive environments.

Bourdon tube pressure gauges – principle of operation

Bourdon tubes are radially shaped tubes with an oval cross-section. The pressure of the medium being measured acts on the inside of the tube and causes the unattached end of the tube to move. The indicated movement is a pressure measurement. C-shaped Bourdon tubes, formed at an angle of approximately 250°, can be used for pressures up to 60 bar. For higher pressures, Bourdon tubes with several superimposed spirals of the same angular diameter or with spiral-shaped coils in one plane (spiral tubes) are used.

WIKA pressure gauges – various versions for many applications

pressure gauge model 111.12 Bourdon tube pressure gauges are designed, certified and manufactured by WIKA in accordance with the EN 837-1 standard. We produce Bourdon tube pressure gauges in various popular measurement ranges, with various process connections, approvals and in various nominal diameters. Liquid-filled Bourdon tube pressure gauges are used for critical applications. The liquid in the housing ensures precise reading of the result even under dynamic pressure loading. The liquid moisturizes the moving parts in the housing and prevents damage and increased wear. Safety pressure gauges complement the WIKA portfolio. In addition to a solid partition between the scale dial and the measuring system, the described Bourdon tube pressure gauges are equipped with explosion-proof protection at the back. Therefore, all persons standing in front of the pressure gauge are protected. Movement is equally important for the reliable display of the measured value. The precision of our instruments can be compared to the mechanism of a Swiss watch. They are also exceptionally solid and durable.
