Calcium, magnesium and carbon dioxide in the form of bicarbonates, as well as chlorides, sulphates and nitrates can destroy heating systems from the inside. Even with low water hardness, there is a risk of pitting corrosion, sludge formation and lime deposits. For this reason and due to the lack of important Polish regulations in this area, the Polish Organisation for the Development of Heat Pump Technology (PORT PC) has long since implemented the industry standards of the German Association of Engineers VDI 2035 on the Polish market regarding the prevention of damage in heating systems in which the carrier is water. Maintaining the appropriate parameters has a significant impact on the reliability and efficiency of heating systems.
