Discover the versatility of RPI Relpol installation relays, which, thanks to their compact design, wide voltage range and the use of interesting, functional solutions, will prove useful in many installations.

Introduction to RPI Relays – What Are They For?

RPI Relpol installation relays are solutions dedicated to both building automation and various control and automation systems. These are relays with a maximum switching current of up to 30 A and maximum contact voltages of 300 V AC and 300 V DC. An additional advantage of this product is the compact housing, which, despite being only 17.5 mm wide, can accommodate up to three switching or normally open contacts. The load capacity of these relays, depending on the number of contacts, is 16 A or 8 A.

Design advantages and versatility of use

RPI relays are a series characterized by a wide range of coils for dedicated voltages (e.g. 12 V DC, 230 V AC), but also versions with a universal operating voltage of 12… 240 V AC/DC. For the installer, this is an almost ideal solution - one relay can be installed for any voltage.

Another very interesting solution are relays, which, depending on the connection, can be used for a voltage of 24 V AC/DC or 230 V AC. We have one relay at our disposal, and when necessary, it can be connected to two completely different voltages.

These relays also have very interesting contact configuration solutions. This series includes relays with 1 to 3 changeover contacts, but also with 1 to 3 make contacts, additionally in different voltage configurations. This is a very interesting design solution. In a very small housing, only 17.5 mm, we can control up to three circuits. – product links

Among the practical design solutions it is worth mentioning:

  • LED indication: Green LED indicates correct power supply, which increases safety and allows for quick diagnosis.
  • Easy installation: Modular housing and 35 mm DIN rail mounting enable quick installation in electrical distribution boards.
  • Compact dimensions: Thanks to their small width, the relays can be used in tight spaces, maximizing space efficiency.

Application of astronomical clocks and energy meters

The cooperation of RPI relays with astronomical clocks and Relpol energy meters opens up new possibilities in the optimization of energy consumption.

  • Astronomical clocks automate lighting control by adjusting its operation to sunrise and sunset. This approach eliminates the need for manual programming and allows for significant savings in lighting systems.
  • Energy meters precisely monitor power consumption, providing users with valuable information about the most energy-intensive areas of the installation. This allows them to implement changes that lead to further savings.

Resistance to surge currents

RPI relays have been designed to work in various installations. Their resistance to extreme temperatures, ranging from -20°C to +50°C, but this series can also be found with high surge currents up to 120 A (20 ms), makes them an ideal choice for lighting systems with high starting currents. These are the RPI-1ZI-D12 and RPI-1ZI-U24A relays. Additionally, the RPI-1ZI-U24A model allows for flexible connection to 24 V AC/DC and 230 V AC, which increases its versatility in various installations.

Summary

Relpol RPI relays are versatile solutions that combine advanced technology with reliability and energy efficiency. Their compact design, flexibility of use and cooperation with clocks and meters make them an ideal choice for modern electrical and industrial installations. By implementing these solutions, users gain the ability to optimize costs and increase the durability of systems.
