Vaillant recoVAIR VAR heat recovery systems - the perfect solution

Vaillant has expanded the offer of recoVAIR VAR heat recovery systems with new elements - ventilation duct systems supplying air to the vents.

Energy losses related to ventilation in modern buildings can reach up to 1/3 of the overall heating costs. By using energy recovery systems from exhaust air, we are able to significantly reduce these losses, while improving the comfort of use of the building.

Vaillant recoVAIR VAR heat recovery systems - the perfect solution The new supply and exhaust elements are perfectly adapted to the recoVAIR VAR system and create a complete building ventilation system. Their installation is extremely quick and easy. The recoVAIR VAR system, together with the supply and exhaust system, is equipped with practical snap-in connectors that allow it to be easily installed anywhere. The system takes up little space, so it is perfect for installation in both new and modernized buildings.

One system includes two distribution boxes with acoustic insulation, ensuring optimal and almost silent air exchange in individual rooms. Air ducts without branches and connectors prevent the accumulation of dirt and noise that usually occurs at the connectors, reduce pressure losses in the installation, and thus reduce operating costs. The ready-to-operate recuperator is mounted on the wall or ceiling, and its maintenance is as easy as installation. Additionally, the entire installation ensures the highest level of comfort and reliability.

VAR recuperators meet all the criteria required by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt. The degree of heat preparation in the recoVAIR system (according to the German Institute of Building Technology) is 87% thanks to the built-in heat recovery system, which allows you to significantly reduce the costs of heating outdoor air and at the same time protect the natural environment. Moreover, the system ensures peace and quiet for the user.

In summer, heat recovery is usually not needed because it leads to excessive heating of the air in the rooms. The bypass system built into the recoVAIR recuperator allows you to easily bypass the heat exchanger.

The recoVAIR VAR ventilation system is easy to install in any home. recoVAIR ensures a good climate in the entire building - the air flow is controlled and continuous. The system monitors air quality: dust, pollen and pollutants are captured thanks to thorough filtration and at the same time removes CO2 and moisture from the building. This protects the building against moisture and eliminates possible habitats for mites and mold.

Ventilation alleviates the symptoms of allergy sufferers, dust and pollen in the air do not enter the house, mosquitoes and other insects also remain outside the building. Air exchange in rooms eliminates the development of fungi and mold. Another important advantage is the fact that street or railway noise is not penetrated, because with controlled ventilation the windows are always closed. Odors from the kitchen, bathroom and moisture are constantly removed to the outside.

    Automation – VRC 470/4

    All Vaillant recuperators can cooperate with the VRC 470/4 system controller. In this way, Vaillant also offers the possibility of controlling a boiler, an aroTHERM heat pump and a Vaillant solar system. One controller for a complete heating, cooling and ventilation system.

    Built-in air humidity sensor

    Vaillant recuperators have a built-in air humidity sensor. Thanks to its measurements, the devices automatically adjust their efficiency according to the needs determined by the weather and the number of household members. Adjusting the efficiency by measuring air humidity can result in savings of up to 30% in the electricity consumed by the device's fans. Additionally, when using the VRC 470/4 controller, it is possible to measure the humidity in the room where the controller is located (e.g. living room, bedroom).

    Possibility of cooperation with an air quality sensor (CO 2 sensor)

    For air quality monitoring, Vaillant offers a CO2 sensor. The sensor works with the VRC 470/4 controller. It is possible to connect 2 sensors to each controller. The advantage of using sensors is the immediate response of the recuperator to an increase in CO2 concentration caused by, for example, more people staying there or smoking.

    Air flow optimization function via CO 2 sensor

    • An increase in CO2 concentration leads to an increase in air flow.
    • If there are different CO2 concentrations in different rooms, the desired air flow will be based on the highest concentration.

    Filters with a large filtration area with automatic control of their condition

    New F7 or F9 air filters (optional) with an area of 0.9 [m2] ensure that the external and internal air is free from dust and other pollutants. Filters are replaced less frequently than standard filters. The moment of filter replacement is determined by a professional measurement of the pressure difference before and after the filter (as in professional ventilation units), and the message is displayed on the VRC 470/4 controller

    Enthalpy exchanger

    VAR 260/4E and 360/4E recuperators have an enthalpy exchanger. It allows moisture to be transferred from the exhaust air to the supplied air. This is particularly important in winter, when the air in the building is particularly dry. The polymer from which the exchanger is made does not allow bacteria to pass through thanks to a special coating (Microban ®). Therefore, hygienic ventilation conditions are maintained when exhaust air is taken from the kitchen and sanitary rooms.
    recoVAIR adjusts its operation to changing air humidity
    The new Vaillant recuperators ensure a perfect climate all year round thanks to the AguaCare and AguaCare Plus systems.

    AguaCare   is an intelligent automation system connected to a standard heat exchanger that measures the humidity of the exhaust air. The humidity sensor and recoVAIR automation adjust the efficiency of the recuperator when the air humidity drops, especially in the winter season. The air dryness in the room is reduced. The humidity sensor is built into the heat recovery unit - the advantage is that there is no need to purchase or additional installation.

    AguaCare Plus   is an intelligent automation system connected to an enthalpy heat exchanger that measures the humidity of the exhaust air. The humidity sensor and recoVAIR automation adjust the efficiency of the recuperator when the air humidity drops. Thanks to the properties of the enthalpy exchanger, part of the moisture from the exhaust air (bathrooms, kitchen) is transferred to the supply air, causing the humidity in the rooms to be at an optimal level. The humidity sensor is built into the heat recovery unit - there is no need to purchase or additional installation.

    Preheating

    VAR recuperators operate with full capacity down to an outdoor temperature of -3 [°C], and with partial capacity down to -7 [°C]. To enable the devices to operate at low outdoor temperatures, Vaillant offers air preheating using a heater. The heater ensures safe operation of the device down to an external temperature of -15°C without reducing air efficiency. Thanks to this, even at low external temperatures, the device operates comfortably with unreduced air flow. The heater allows you to increase the temperature by approx. 15 K at maximum air flow. The heating element is adapted for installation in a recuperator.

    Internet communication system

    Each recuperator cooperating with the VRC 470/4 controller can be connected to the comDIALOG internet communication system. In this way, the entire heating and ventilation system can be supervised using a computer, tablet or smartphone, and basic operating messages will be sent to the user, e.g. as text messages.
