The ALANTEC 45 mm splice sleeve is an essential element when working with fiber optic installations. Designed to protect splices, it shields them from mechanical damage and external factors. Construction and properties

ALANTEC splice sleeves are made of heat-shrinkable plastic, which adapts to the shape of the connector when heated, creating a tight and durable protective barrier. This effectively protects the spliced connection from cracks and other damage that could lead to signal loss.

The sleeve is characterized by a length of 45 mm, which provides adequate coverage of the splice area. Before shrinking, its outer diameter is 3 mm with a tolerance of +/- 0.5 mm, and after shrinking 2 mm with a tolerance of +/- 0.2 mm. The diameter of the hole before shrinking is 1.25 mm. A minimum temperature of 110°C and a time of up to 60 seconds are sufficient for shrinking it. Inside there is a reinforcing wire with a diameter of 1.1 mm providing additional stability and resistance to mechanical damage.
