Low channel (10 cm) Galvanized steel edges ACO DRAIN Multiline V 100 12321
Drainage system for demanding vehicular traffic areas
The ACO DRAIN Multiline V 100 channel is a component of a linear drainage system, designed for operation under extreme load conditions. Thanks to load class E-600 (up to 600 kN), this structure is intended for areas where heavy vehicles such as forklifts, trucks, or construction machinery operate. It is a solution that requires no compromise between durability and hydraulic functionality.
Material and construction ensuring durability
The main element of the channel is polymer concrete. This material combines the chemical resistance of concrete with the impact strength and frost resistance characteristic of modern composites. Unlike traditional concrete, polymer concrete is less porous, which limits water and road salt absorption, protecting the structure from degradation in harsh atmospheric conditions.
The edges of the channel have been reinforced with galvanized steel. This is a key installation solution:
- Increases the rigidity of the entire element during transport and installation.
- Facilitates precise embedding in concrete or asphalt layers.
- Ensures edge stability under the influence of large lateral forces acting on the system.
Thanks to the V-shaped cross-section, this system achieves better water flow velocity at a shallower channel depth. This shape also promotes self-cleaning processes – water flowing down the walls with greater force carries away sediments, reducing the need for frequent manual cleaning.
Application and installation flexibility
An element with a length of 1000 mm and an installation width of 136 mm is ideal for:
- Underground garages for trucks and buses.
- Internal roads in industrial and logistics areas.
- Maneuvering yards and loading/unloading zones.
- Port and airport areas (heavy equipment traffic zones).
The system allows for series (cascade) connection of elements, enabling the creation of continuous drainage lines of any length without the need for additional intermediate connectors. It is worth noting that this model is produced as a channel without a grate – it requires selecting an appropriate grid (e.g., galvanized steel or cast iron) matched to load class E-600, giving architects and contractors full design freedom.
Key features of this solution include resistance to the heaviest loads thanks to class E-600 and durability ensured by polymer concrete resistant to road salts and freeze-thaw cycles. The V-shape not only accelerates water drainage but also minimizes the risk of blockages caused by sediments, translating into lower infrastructure maintenance costs. Steel edge reinforcement facilitates installation without the risk of damaging the element during earthworks or embedding in the pavement. For installers, it is also important that these elements are factory-prepared for joint filling (technological groove), which facilitates a watertight connection with the surroundings after grate installation. The lack of a pre-formed bottom slope means that the slope must be provided by the sub-base layer during earthworks, offering greater flexibility in adapting the system to the existing terrain or pavement geometry.
