ACO GALA G100 drainage channel without grate, polymer concrete, type 10.1, with knockout groove in the base, with grooves for angular connections 06048
Drainage system for pedestrian and recreational areas
The ACO GALA G100 channel, made of durable polymer concrete, is a component of a linear drainage system designed for areas where safety and aesthetics are priorities. Thanks to load class C-250 (in accordance with standard EN 1433), the product easily handles loads typical of pedestrian zones, bicycle paths, or light service vehicles. This material not only ensures high mechanical strength but also guarantees resistance to atmospheric factors – the elements are frost-resistant, making them an ideal choice for outdoor installations in our climate.
Special attention should be paid to the channel bottom design, which features special grooves. These allow for quick and precise knockout of the outlet hole at the water discharge point, significantly facilitating on-site installation. Additionally, the presence of grooves for angular connections gives installers flexibility when creating complex drainage routes without the need for additional cutting accessories. Although the set does not include a grate (the product is sold as a channel without cover), the system is designed for use with symmetrical cast iron grates, which are screw-mounted – this solution ensures stability and easy disassembly if channel cleaning is required.
Applications and practical benefits
The product is suitable for many public and private locations where reliable rainwater drainage is required. Due to its properties and load-bearing class, the ACO GALA G100 channel is often chosen for:
- Residential areas – patios, driveways for passenger cars (within class C-250), and gardens;
- Recreational infrastructure – bicycle paths, urban sidewalks, and school courtyards;
- Commercial zones – bus stop platforms, curb-side drainage areas, and drainage along road edges with low traffic intensity;
- Sports facilities – sports field complexes and playgrounds.
Thanks to the possibility of sealing joints during installation, this system allows for the creation of a watertight drainage line, preventing water infiltration into the subsoil and protecting the pavement from damage caused by moisture. Polymer concrete also features a smooth interior surface, which minimizes the risk of dirt accumulation and facilitates subsequent channel cleaning.
Construction and key parameters
These elements have a working length of 500 mm, allowing precise adaptation to existing drainage routes without the need to cut the material. The body is made of polymer concrete (concrete), which combines the strength of traditional concrete with the chemical resistance of plastics. In case of grate installation (sold separately), remember to use a symmetrical model made of cast iron – such a selection guarantees aesthetics and durability in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
This system also offers flexibility in connections:
- The channel bottom has a prepared spot for knocking out the discharge hole;
- Side walls are equipped with grooves enabling angular connections;
- Joints between elements can be sealed during installation, eliminating the risk of leaks into the ground.
The screw-mounted grate installation (for the complete system) eliminates the risk of displacement or noise during use. Together, they form a coherent drainage system that combines functionality with the durability of construction materials.
