The ACO SELF Euroline drainage channel is a solution designed for efficient discharge of rainwater and meltwater in pedestrian zones and areas accessible to passenger vehicles. The key structural element is the V-shaped cross-section. Thanks to this design, even with a small volume of water, the flow velocity increases, naturally promoting self-cleaning of the channel from sediments and leaves. This is a significant advantage for installers and users – the system requires less maintenance and is less prone to clogging.

The channel is made of polymer concrete, which combines the strength of concrete with resistance to chemical agents and frost. These elements are ready for installation in various atmospheric conditions, and their surface allows for safe sealing during laying, preventing water infiltration into the substrate. The length of a single segment is 500 mm, facilitating precise adaptation to short drainage sections, such as at building entrances or narrow driveways.

Bolt-Free Grate Mounting and Load Class A15

The grate supplied with the channel is made of galvanized steel, ensuring durability in outdoor environments. Its symmetrical shape and snap-in mounting system (bolt-free) eliminate typical operational issues. The absence of screws means there is no need to worry about their corrosion or difficulties in unscrewing them after years of use – the grate can be removed and reinstalled in a few seconds, significantly simplifying cleaning of the sediment trap or servicing of the outlet box.

The system meets the requirements of load class A-15 according to standard EN 1433. This means it is intended for pedestrian zones and areas where passenger vehicles operate (e.g., garage entrances, driveways to single-family homes). However, it is not suitable for heavy traffic or public roads with high volumes of heavy transport. The internal width of the channel is 10 cm, while the total construction width is 11.8 cm with a height of 9.7 cm – these dimensions allow for aesthetic and functional integration into block or concrete pavements without the need for excessively wide installation trenches.

Application and System Compatibility

The product is ideal as an element of a linear drainage system in individual housing construction. Due to its short length (0.5 m), this segment is often used as:

• end or starting elements of a drainage line;
• transitions around pillars or other architectural obstacles;
• supplements to longer channel sections (e.g., 1-meter ones) where precise adjustment of the total length is required;
• drainage for terraces, sidewalks around the house, or garden paths.

The system is modular and compatible with other Euroline series elements, such as outlet boxes with sediment traps or outlet nozzles with a diameter of Ø 110 mm (available as separate components). This allows for easy design of the drainage line from the collection point to the sewer connection. The maximum permissible slope for this type of channel is 8%, which must be considered when designing the drainage route – with greater slopes, additional stabilizing elements or a relieving beam may be required.

It is worth noting that during installation, care must be taken when laying the foundation bed – a width of approx. 30 cm and a height of approx. 10 cm is the standard recommendation for stable channel placement before pouring the final surface. Due to its slope-free construction (inside the channel), this system requires proper preparation of the substrate slope beneath the channel before installation to ensure correct water flow to the outlet point.
