Galvanized Steel Grating – Durable, Precise, Tailored to the ACO GALA G100 System
The grating is designed exclusively for installation in ACO GALA G100 channel systems. Its grid construction, with 30 x 20 mm openings, ensures effective water drainage while preventing the entry of larger foreign objects such as leaves or small stones. Galvanized steel guarantees corrosion resistance, and the structure is sufficiently rigid to withstand pedestrian traffic and light vehicles.
Load class B125 indicates that the grating is intended for areas with pedestrian and light vehicle traffic – sidewalks, cycle paths, school courtyards, platforms, or residential zones. It is not suitable for roads with motor vehicle traffic, but it is ideal where a robust yet not overly thick construction is required.
Installation is straightforward: the grating is bolted to the channel crossbar – no adhesive or concrete pouring is needed. This facilitates both installation and subsequent replacement or cleaning. The width of 127 mm is a standard dimension matched to GALA G100 channels, eliminating the need to adapt other system components.
Dimensions: 1000 mm length and 127 mm width – one complete unit. There is no need to join multiple parts to cover the standard distance between curbs. A weight of 3.3 kg ensures stability underfoot and for bicycle wheels, without being so heavy as to hinder transport or installation.
Compared to cast iron or stainless steel gratings, this option offers a lower price and sufficient strength for most urban applications. It requires no special maintenance; periodic flushing and cleaning of the openings are sufficient.
The ACO GALA G100 system functions as an integrated whole: polymer concrete channel + galvanized steel grating + bolted mounting = a solution proven under Polish climate conditions. The frost resistance of the polymer concrete does not affect the grating, but its corrosion resistance and dimensional stability are crucial for the long-term performance of the system.
