Magnetic dirt separator ADS 160, movable connection GW 1 inch, Kvs 6.9 m3/h 7716000
Heating and cooling system protection with AFRISO ADS 160
The ADS 160 dirt separator is a key element in maintaining the efficiency and performance of central heating and cooling systems. The device effectively removes solid contaminants such as rust, metal shavings, sludge and scale, which can lead to damage to boilers, circulating pumps and other components of the installation. Thanks to the use of both mechanical and magnetic filtration, the separator provides comprehensive protection against the negative effects of contaminants.
Application:
- Central heating systems (radiators, underfloor heating).
- Cooling systems.
- Installations with condensing and solid fuel boilers.
- Heat pump systems (lower and upper source).
- Installations with water and glycol mixtures (up to 50% glycol concentration).
Construction and principle of operation:
ADS 160 utilizes the principle of swirling the heating or cooling medium. The medium, set in swirling motion, flows through a path similar to a cyclone, which facilitates the separation and settling of contaminants in the lower part of the device. A built-in neodymium magnet with a strength of 14,000 Gs attracts metallic particles, and the filter mesh retains the remaining contaminants. The purified medium is then directed to the heat or cooling source. The separator is equipped with a drain valve to facilitate the removal of accumulated sediment.
Product features:
- The housing made of durable polyamide PA66 ensures corrosion resistance and long-term operation.
- Two replaceable filter meshes with different mesh densities (500 µm and 800 µm) allow you to adjust the filtration to the degree of contamination of the installation - two-stage filtration is recommended in modernized installations.
- A movable G1" female thread connection enables flexible mounting on vertical, horizontal and inclined pipes.
- A manual air vent facilitates venting the separator after maintenance work.
- A seal protects the magnet from unauthorized removal.
- EPP insulation minimizes heat loss in heating installations or heat gains in cooling systems.
Installation:
The ADS 160 separator should be installed on the return line to the heat or cooling source to intercept contaminants before they reach the sensitive components of the system. It is recommended to install shut-off valves before and after the separator to facilitate maintenance and service. Remember to point the drain valve downwards and to the correct flow direction indicated by the arrow on the connection body.
Technical data:
- Connections: 2x G1" female thread
- Maximum medium temperature: 90°C
- Maximum working pressure: 3 bar
- Recommended flow rate: 2.1 m³/h
- Kvs: 6.9 m³/h
- Magnet strength: 14,000 Gs
- Filter mesh size: 500 µm / 800 µm
By choosing the ADS 160 separator, you are investing in reliable protection for your heating or cooling system, extending its lifespan and ensuring stable operation for years to come.
