Hydraulic coupling – optimizing the operation of heating and cooling systems
This hydraulic coupling, insulated and equipped with a manifold, is a key element in heating and cooling systems. Its main task is to hydraulically separate the heat/cool source circuits from the distribution system, which translates into stable operation of the entire system, regardless of changing conditions. Thanks to this solution, changes in pump performance or disconnection of individual consumers do not disrupt the operation of the installation. The coupling also functions as an air vent point and a place to remove impurities that may occur during operation.
Construction and application
The BLH 850 coupling is characterized by a solid construction based on a steel, galvanized body – which ensures corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. The two-part insulation made of EPP (expanded polypropylene) minimizes heat loss and allows for the installation of a temperature sensor without the need to remove the insulation. It is equipped with six internal threaded G1” connections and two G1/2” connections, providing flexibility in connecting both heating circuits and two heat sources. Additionally, the coupling has an automatic air vent with a bottom valve and a KFE drain valve, facilitating maintenance and removal of impurities.
Advantages and benefits
- Corrosion protection: the steel, galvanized body guarantees durability and resistance to external factors.
- Effective insulation: two-part EPP insulation reduces heat loss, affecting the energy efficiency of the system.
- Automatic venting: the built-in air vent with a bottom valve eliminates the need for manual venting of the installation.
- Easy removal of impurities: the KFE drain valve allows for easy removal of sediment and impurities from the system.
- Connection flexibility: six G1” and two G1/2” connections allow for various installation configurations.
- Stable installation operation: the coupling balances flows, ensuring smooth operation of the pump and heat source even under variable load.
- Extended pump life: proper hydraulic operating conditions of the circulation pump translate into its longer life and reduced risk of failure.
The BLH 850 coupling is a solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for a reliable and efficient element in their heating or cooling system. Its solid construction, functionality and ease of installation make it an investment in comfort and safety of use for many years.
