Precise Air Quality Monitoring in a Single Device
Professional environmental control requires tools that not only measure but also interpret data in real time. The VZ77535 meter combines advanced sensor technology with intuitive operation, becoming a key element in HVAC system verification processes and workplace environment monitoring. Thanks to the use of an NDIR (non-dispersive infrared absorption) sensor for carbon dioxide measurement and a high-grade capacitive sensor for humidity, the device eliminates errors typical of cheaper solutions, ensuring reading stability even under varying thermal conditions.
For installers and auditors, obtaining a result is not enough; the ability to perform historical analysis is equally important. The device allows tracking of minimum and maximum values (MIN/MAX function) and calculation of time-weighted averages for 8-hour (TWA) and 15-minute (STEL) intervals. This is particularly useful when assessing compliance with occupational health and safety standards at workstations or in fermentation processes. If the device's response to changes is too rapid, the HOLD button allows freezing the display readings, facilitating precise data interpretation in dynamic situations.
Applications and Alarm Functions
The application range of this meter is broad – from monitoring ventilation in offices and schools to controlling parameters in greenhouses, food warehouses, and food industry facilities (breweries, distilleries). In CO2-based fire suppression systems or gas cylinder storage areas, the device serves as an early warning system. Users can independently set CO2 concentration alarm thresholds; upon exceeding them, a modulated audible signal of approximately 80 dB is triggered, ensuring immediate personnel response.
Additional analytical features worth noting:
- Calculation of dew point temperature (DEW POINT) – crucial for preventing water condensation on structural elements or products.
- Determination of wet-bulb temperature (WET BULB) – essential in drying and air conditioning processes.
- Ability to switch temperature units between Celsius and Fahrenheit (
°C/°F).
Data can be archived and analyzed on a PC via the RS232 port (external software required), opening the way to creating compliance reports for sanitary or energy inspections.
Work Ergonomics and Power Supply Reliability
The device construction is designed for daily use both in the field and in the office. The 26 x 44 mm three-line LCD display is backlit, enabling comfortable reading even in poorly lit rooms or during night work. The enclosure dimensions (205 x 70 x 58 mm) make the meter lightweight and portable, while the included carrying case protects it during transport between sites.
Power supply is flexible – the device can operate on four AA alkaline batteries or be connected to the mains via the included DC9V 1A power adapter. To extend battery life, an automatic power-off function after 20 minutes of inactivity is implemented (deactivatable). Regular calibrations are also necessary: the device features a built-in automatic CO2 sensor calibration function and a two-point humidity sensor calibration, extending sensor lifespan and maintaining declared measurement accuracy throughout the entire operational cycle.
