Specialized Smoke Detector for Anti-Smoking Systems

This device does not function as a standalone alarm unit but serves as a subordinate (slave) sensor within the advanced Cig-Arrete anti-smoking system. Its primary task is the precise detection of cigarette smoke in areas subject to strict no-smoking regulations – such as restrooms, changing rooms, booths, or other hard-to-reach rooms. Thanks to unique sensor technology, the detector responds quickly and accurately to the specific characteristics of tobacco smoke, enabling an immediate reaction from the control system.

Application and Network Integration

To perform its function, the device must be connected to a master system component. The detector operates directly with control panels (e.g., model CSA-S5BAR) and other master detectors from the CSA-GDV or CSA-FDV series. Operation is exclusively via wired connection, ensuring stable signal transmission and eliminating the risk of radio interference.

It is important to note the key protective dimension: one such detector effectively monitors a space with a volume of 27 m³ (equivalent to a cube measuring 3 x 3 x 3 meters). For larger rooms, additional units must be installed to ensure full coverage of the controlled zone.

Construction, Installation, and Safety

The enclosure is made of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), providing high mechanical strength while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing white finish. Installation is surface-mounted on walls or ceilings; however, the device requires a separate mounting base – it is neither self-adhesive nor autonomous.

When working with this model, several practical installation aspects should be considered. The device is powered by direct current (DC) drawn from the mains, eliminating the need for battery replacement or battery maintenance. A key feature facilitating adaptation to local conditions is the four-stage sensitivity adjustment, which helps prevent false alarms in rooms exposed to water vapor or dust. Security against theft is ensured by a special mounting screw; its removal requires a dedicated screwdriver (model CSA-ATS), and in areas with a high risk of mechanical damage, an additional protective metal cage (model CSA-AVC) can be installed. A built-in voltage indicator on the enclosure simplifies operational diagnostics.

The device bears the CE marking and is intended exclusively for use within the integrated Cig-Arrete system. It is not suitable for use as a standalone fire alarm or for detecting other types of smoke or gases besides tobacco smoke.
