Design and operating principle

The RUNp III SA 24/4 disconnect switch features a common base and a single drive for all three poles. Each pole is supported by two supporting insulators – one attached to the frame, the other to the movable, bearing-mounted beam. This construction guarantees synchronization of the closing and opening of individual poles, minimizing the risk of damage. The current path of each pole consists of main and arcing contacts, mounted on supporting cassettes directly on the insulators.
