All-in-one for heating and hot water

Extensa S Duo is a split-type air source heat pump designed for single-family houses that require a single device for heating and domestic hot water preparation. Instead of buying a heat pump and a DHW tank separately, you receive an integrated hydraulic module with a built-in DHW tank with a capacity of 190 liters - all in one housing that takes up less space than a traditional two-element solution.

The series includes five models with heating capacities ranging from 3 to 10 kW, allowing the device to be matched to the specific building's requirements. The 8 kW version (ref. no. 527092) operates single-phase (230 V / 50 Hz), so it does not require a three-phase installation - standard home power with appropriate overcurrent protection is sufficient.

Construction and unit division

The indoor module is installed in the boiler room or technical room. It contains a patented coaxial heat exchanger (pipe-in-pipe), a circulation pump, a 12 liter expansion vessel, a 16 liter buffer tank, and a DHW tank made of enameled steel with a protective anode and an ACI Hybride system. The built-in electric heater has a capacity of 3 kW with the possibility of expansion to 6 kW via an additional relay - useful as peak support on the coldest days.

The outdoor unit contains a compressor, evaporator, fan, and expansion valve. The entire unit is acoustically and thermally insulated. The maximum refrigerant piping length is 30 meters, and the height difference between units can reach 20 meters. The factory charge of R32 refrigerant covers an installation up to 15 meters - for longer routes, it should be topped up according to the manufacturer's table.

Efficiency and operating modes

The device achieves a supply temperature of up to 55°C, allowing it to work with both underfloor heating (where it achieves the highest efficiency) and low-temperature radiators or existing radiators.

The energy class for heating is A+++ / A++ (respectively for operating temperatures of 35°C and 55°C). Domestic hot water preparation falls into class A+, and the seasonal efficiency of this process is 130%.

Smooth regulation is provided by the VPAM system - ten-stage compressor power modulation allows it to work only at the intensity currently required by the building. This translates to lower energy consumption and more stable indoor temperatures.

The operating range at outdoor temperatures is from −20°C to +35°C, so the device will also cope during frosty Polish winters.

Control and system integration

The control panel with an LCD display and a navigation knob allows access to the settings menu without needing to consult the manual - the interface is intuitive even for people without experience with heat pumps.

Significantly greater possibilities are offered by the Cozytouch application, which allows remote temperature control, programming work schedules, and monitoring energy consumption from a smartphone or tablet.

The Smart Grid function enables synchronization of the pump's operation with a photovoltaic installation - the device automatically increases power consumption during moments of energy surplus from PV panels, increasing self-consumption and shortening the payback period of the photovoltaic investment.

Additional features worth noting:

  • The DHW tank heating time is approximately 1 hour 35 minutes.
  • The available amount of hot water according to the EN16147 standard is245 liters.
  • The device is covered by a manufacturer's warranty for a period of 5 years.

When purchasing, remember the requirement to present an F-Gas certificate - both during installation by an installation company and in the event of a potential resale of the unit.
