Air-to-water split heat pump Alfea Extensa S Duo is a complete heating system in one unit - it heats the building and prepares domestic hot water without the need to purchase additional components. The indoor unit contains an integrated DHW tank with a capacity of 190 liters and a 16-liter buffer tank, which stabilizes the operation of the entire hydraulic system and compensates for the thermal inertia of the heating installation.
With a supply temperature of up to 55°C, the unit works with both underfloor heating and low-temperature radiators - which means flexibility in selecting the installation in existing buildings.
Indoor unit construction and hydraulics
The hydraulic module is housed in a single enclosure measuring 568 × 1766 × 623 mm and weighs approximately 135 kg (without water). Inside is a patented coaxial heat exchanger (pipe within a pipe), in which the condensing refrigerant transfers heat to the water circulating in the heating circuit - this solution eliminates additional pipe connections and reduces the risk of leaks.
The DHW tank is made of enameled steel with a built-in 1.5 kW booster heater and a protective anode. The heating time to 54°C according to EN16147 standard is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the available hot water volume reaches 245 liters - sufficient for an average family.
The additional electric heater module has a power of 3 kW with the possibility of expansion to 6 kW, which allows covering peak demand or operating as a backup heat source.
Outdoor unit and performance
The outdoor unit operates in a temperature range from -20°C to +35°C, extracting energy from outside air even at negative temperatures. The compressor operates in smooth power modulation mode thanks to the VPAM system - the unit does not constantly run at full power, but adjusts it to current demand, which reduces energy consumption and component wear.
For the 10 kW model at an outside temperature of +7°C and supply temperature of +35°C (underfloor heating), the COP coefficient is 4.50, and the seasonal efficiency SCOP reaches 4.53 (35°C) and 3.33 (55°C) respectively. The energy class is A+++ / A++.
The R32 refrigerant allows for installation lengths from 3 to a maximum of 30 meters, with a height difference of up to 20 meters. The maximum length without additional refrigerant charge is 20 meters.
The noise level of the outdoor unit for the 10 kW model is approximately 40 dB measured at a distance of 5 meters.
Control and additional functions
The control panel is equipped with a display and a navigation dial providing access to the settings menu. The self-diagnosis function reports any errors and faults, and the AUTO, ECO and COMFORT operating modes allow the pump operation to be matched to current needs.
The advanced ACI Hybride anti-corrosion system protects the DHW tank, extending its service life - particularly important in areas with hard water.
The Smart Grid function enables integration with a photovoltaic installation - the pump automatically increases heating power during moments of surplus energy from PV panels, increasing self-consumption and lowering electricity bills.
Remote management of the unit is also possible through the Cozytouch application, which allows temperature control, work schedules and energy consumption to be monitored from anywhere.
There is the possibility of expansion with a second heating circuit using a dedicated kit - useful for larger installations or zonal heating management.
