All-in-one for single-family houses

The Alfea Extensa S Duo air source heat pump is a complete heating system in one device - building heating and domestic hot water preparation are carried out by a single indoor unit with an integrated domestic hot water tank with a capacity of 190 liters. The device operates in split mode: the hydraulic module is mounted inside the building, and the outdoor unit is outside - they are connected by a refrigerant installation filled with eco-friendly R32 refrigerant.

The 6 kW model (ref. no. 527091) is single-phase (230 V / 50 Hz), allowing for installation in standard domestic conditions without the need to expand the electrical connection. The compressor performs 10-stage power modulation within the VPAM system - the device does not operate constantly at full capacity, but adjusts it to the current demand, which translates to lower energy consumption and more stable operation.

Indoor module - hydraulics and DHW comfort

Inside the building is a hydraulic module containing all key elements of the system. Its heart is a patented coaxial heat exchanger (tube-in-tube design), in which the condensing refrigerant transfers heat to the water circulating in the heating circuit. This design eliminates the risk of overheating and ensures the durability of the entire hydraulic system.

The module also contains:

• A buffer tank with a capacity of 16 liters - compensates for the water volume of the installation and stabilizes compressor operation,
• A DHW tank made of enameled steel - with a capacity of 190 liters, equipped with an additional 1.5 kW auxiliary heater and a sacrificial anode,
• An expansion vessel with a capacity of 12 liters, a circulation pump, and a three-way valve switching between heating mode and DHW heating mode,
• An electric peak heater mounted inside the exchanger - standard 3 kW, with the possibility of expansion to 6 kW via an additional power relay; useful as a backup during extreme frosts or failures.

The DHW tank charging time is approximately 1 hour 35 minutes, and the available amount of hot water according to the EN16147 standard is 245 liters. The ACI Hybride anti-corrosion system actively protects the tank from corrosion - a solution important especially where the quality of the mains water leaves much to be desired.

Outdoor unit - operation in all conditions

The outdoor unit contains the compressor, evaporator, axial fan, and expansion valve. The entire unit is acoustically and thermally insulated. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +35°C ambient temperature - at a frost of around -7°C, the 6 kW model still delivers approximately 5 kW of heating power (COP = 2.63). In milder weather (+7°C), efficiency increases to 5.5 kW with a COP reaching 4.65.

The noise level of the outdoor unit is approximately 35 dB(A) - comparably quiet as a normal conversation, so the device will not be bothersome to residents or neighbors even during night operation.

The maximum pipe installation length is 30 meters, and the height difference between units can reach 20 meters. The factory charge of R32 refrigerant is sufficient for an installation up to 15 meters; each subsequent meter requires a top-up of approximately 25 g/m.

Control, efficiency, and integration

The control panel offers an intuitive interface with a display and a navigation knob - operation is reduced to setting the desired temperature and potentially programming a schedule. Additionally, the Cozytouch mobile application enables remote management of the pump's operation: changing the temperature, viewing energy consumption, or modifying schedules.
