Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability of installation

This two-core power cable is designed for applications requiring a high level of fire safety. The HDGs FE180/PH120/E90 cable, manufactured by BITNER, guarantees reliability in critical situations. Made of copper, with halogen-free LSZH insulation, it not only provides effective energy conduction but also minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a conductor cross-section of 4 mm², making it suitable for applications requiring the transfer of higher currents. The 2x4mm² cable construction provides flexibility and ease of installation. The outer diameter of the cable is 10 mm. The use of halogen-free materials (LSZH – Low Smoke Zero Halogen) is a key feature that limits the emission of smoke and toxic substances during a fire, significantly improving the safety of evacuation and rescue services. The cable is designed to operate at temperatures from -30°C to +80°C.

Application and compliance with standards

This cable is used in fire protection systems, alarm installations, and anywhere where high fire resistance and minimal emission of harmful substances are required. It meets the EN 60332-1 FE180 PH120 E90 standard, which confirms its fire-resistant properties. This means that the cable maintains circuit continuity for a specified time (FE180 – functionality for 180 minutes, PH120 – integrity for 120 minutes, E90 – insulation for 90 minutes) under fire conditions. The cable cores are color-coded for easy identification and have a yellow-green protective conductor. The rated voltage of the cable is 300V/500V.
