This halogen-free telecommunication cable is designed for station installations and telecommunication networks. The cable construction provides a safe and reliable connection, especially in places with increased fire safety requirements. The use of halogen-free materials minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire, increasing the safety of users and installers.

Construction and properties

The HTKSH cable consists of 20 single-wire copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.8 mm². Each conductor is insulated with a halogen-free plastic, which is characterized by a high oxygen index (minimum 35), which affects its fire resistance. The conductors are twisted in pairs, and each pair has a dedicated color of insulation in accordance with PN-92/T-90321, which facilitates identification during installation and subsequent maintenance. The twisted pairs are wrapped with a polyester tape for additional protection and stability.

The cable core is additionally insulated with a polyester tape, and the whole is surrounded by a halogen-free jacket that does not spread flames. This jacket also has limited emission of smoke and toxic and corrosive gases, which is crucial in the event of a fire. The effective capacitance of the pairs is a maximum of 55 nF/km, and the capacitance asymmetry between the pairs is a maximum of 512 pF/km. The cable withstands a test voltage of the polyethylene coating at a level of 8 kV.
