Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – reliability and safety of connections
This halogen-free telecommunication cable HTKSH 1x2x0.5 is a solid solution for alarm, telephone, telegraph systems, as well as teletransmission and data processing systems. It is suitable for dry, closed rooms where high-quality connections and fire resistance are required. This cable is particularly recommended where safety is a priority – in public buildings, offices or industrial facilities.
Construction and application
The HTKSH cable is characterized by a careful construction. Two solid copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.5 mm² are insulated with a halogen-free material, which ensures safety in the event of a fire – it limits the release of toxic gases and smoke. The conductors are arranged in pairs, and the whole is surrounded by a sheath of halogen-free thermoplastic material. This construction guarantees not only durability and reliability of the connection, but also minimizes the risk of harmful substances forming during a possible fire.
The cable is designed to operate in a moderate climate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C. The minimum installation temperature is -10°C. The maximum operating voltage is 150V. It is important to maintain a minimum bending radius of 10 times the cable diameter (48mm for this model) to avoid damage to the conductors and loss of electrical parameters.
Key features and benefits
- Halogen-free: a key feature ensuring fire safety – limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke during combustion. This is especially important in public buildings and places with a high concentration of people.
- Copper conductors: guarantee good electrical conductivity and connection stability.
- Flexibility: thanks to the construction with solid conductors, the cable is easy to install and route in tight spaces.
- Wide operating temperature range: possibility of use in various environmental conditions (from -40°C to +80°C).
- Compliance with standards: the cable meets the requirements of the RoHS directive and has a CE mark, which confirms its quality and safety. Reaction to fire class Eca provides an additional level of fire protection.
- Resistance to mechanical damage: The thermoplastic sheath protects the conductors from moisture and mechanical damage during installation and operation.
- Electrical parameters: Loop resistance of the pair is maximum 191.8 Ω/km, and insulation resistance of each conductor is minimum 1500 MΩxkm – parameters ensuring stable signal transmission.
