Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – reliable communication in fire protection systems

This halogen-free telecommunication cable HTKSHekw, manufactured by Zakłady Kablowe BITNER, is designed for use in alarm systems and fire protection installations. Its construction ensures safe and reliable signal transmission in critical situations. This cable is particularly recommended for connecting stationary telephone devices, teletransmission systems, and data transmission – both analog and digital.

Construction and properties

The HTKSHekw cable is characterized by a careful construction that affects its parameters and durability. It consists of single-wire copper conductors of class 1 (compliant with PN-EN 60228), insulated with a halogen-free polymer mixture. The conductors are arranged in twisted pairs in parallel, which minimizes interference. The cable core is protected with a polyester tape, and the whole is surrounded by a screen made of aluminum foil laminated with an earthing conductor with a diameter of 0.4 mm. The outer sheath is made of a halogen-free polymer mixture in red color.

It is worth noting the operating temperature range of the cable: from -40°C to 80°C, which makes it suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions. Voltage test (AC 1500 V, DC 2250 V) and high insulation resistance (minimum 200 MΩxkm) guarantee safety and reliability. The minimum bending radius is 10 x Ø, which facilitates assembly and installation.

Safety and compliance with standards

The HTKSHekw cable meets stringent standards regarding flame propagation resistance:

• PN-EN 60332-1 / EN 60332-1 / IEC 60332-1: Flame propagation resistance of a single cable (fire resistance).
• PN-EN 60332-3-24 / EN 60332-3-24 / IEC 60332-3-24: Flame propagation resistance of a cable bundle.

The use of halogen-free materials minimizes the emission of toxic gases during a fire, increasing the safety of users and rescuers. This cable has 10 conductors with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², which provides adequate bandwidth for various telecommunication applications.
