Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – reliability in crisis situations

The HTKSHekw 5x2x1.0 telecommunication cable is an advanced solution designed for applications where continuous operation in the event of a fire is critical. Designed with safety systems in mind, it ensures uninterrupted operation of critical installations even in extreme conditions. It is a halogen-free cable, which means that it does not release toxic gases or dense smoke during combustion – important for protecting health and life.

Construction and application

The HTKSHekw cable is equipped with a static screen (ekw) which minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on transmitted signals. This ensures stable communication in environments exposed to interference. These cables are ideal for installation inside buildings, especially where high fire resistance is required. They are used in:

• alarm and signaling systems,
• emergency lighting installations,
• teletransmission systems and sound warning systems (DSO),
• fire alarm and fire automation systems.

Parameters and safety

The HTKSHekw cable meets strict safety standards. Tested according to DIN 4102 part 12, it can be used in cable routes E90 as part of a cable assembly E90 (when mounted on holders every 30 or 60 cm). It provides insulation durability for 180 minutes (FE180) and proper functioning of the installation for at least 120 minutes in fire conditions (PH120). The conductor cross-section of 1 mm² and 10 conductors provide adequate bandwidth and installation flexibility. This cable is particularly important where the reliability of safety systems during a fire is required – protecting both people and property.
