Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – safety and reliability
The HTKSHekw FE180/PH90/E90 5x2x1.8 telecommunication cable is an advanced solution designed for installations requiring a high level of fire safety. This cable, manufactured by Bitner, is distinguished by its fire resistance, halogen-free properties, and ability to maintain electrical functions in fire conditions. This is crucial in alarm, evacuation, and emergency lighting systems, where continuous operation is a matter of life and death.
Construction and properties
The HTKSHekw cable is characterized by carefully selected materials and a construction that ensures its unique properties. Made of copper conductors with a cross-section of 1.8 mm², it has 10 conductors, enabling signal transmission in various configurations. A static screen (ekw) minimizes electromagnetic interference, guaranteeing stable data transmission. The halogen-free outer jacket limits the emission of toxic gases during a fire, increasing user safety and facilitating evacuation.
A key feature of the cable is its fire resistance confirmed by DIN 4102 part 12 and EN 50200 standards. This allows its use in E90 cable routes, ensuring the proper functioning of the installation for at least 90 minutes in the event of a fire (PH90) and the durability of the cable insulation for 3 hours (FE180). Additionally, the cable meets the requirements for preventing flame propagation on a single cable and on a cable harness.
Applications and user parameters
The HTKSHekw FE180/PH90/E90 cable finds wide application in:
- Alarm and signaling systems
- Emergency lighting systems
- Public buildings (hospitals, schools, office buildings)
- Industrial facilities with increased safety requirements
- Cable routes requiring high fire resistance
This cable is characterized by a working voltage of 150/250V and an operating temperature of -25°C to +70°C (for mobile installations from -5°C to +50°C). Insulation resistance is at least 500 MΩ/km, and capacitance is 150 nF/km. The minimum bending radius is 10 times the cable diameter, and the minimum laying temperature is -5°C.
By choosing this cable, you are investing in the safety and reliability of the electrical installation – both for end users and for installers responsible for the proper execution of work.
