This shielded mining cable YHKGX SEkyn 3.6/6kV, manufactured by BITNER, is a robust solution for transmitting electrical energy in demanding mining environments. Designed for operation in lines with a rated voltage of 3.6/6kV and powering electrical equipment in mines, it ensures safety and continuity of energy supply. This cable is particularly resistant to conditions prevailing in workings threatened by methane or coal dust explosions.

Construction and application

The YHKGX SEkyn cable is characterized by an advanced construction that guarantees its durability and reliability. Made of multi-wire copper conductors class 2 (according to PN-EN 60228), insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) with a semiconducting layer. Each core has an individual screen, and the whole is additionally protected by a general screen made of copper tapes. The outer sheath is made of a special, non-flammable and flame-retardant PVC, which increases safety of use.

This cable finds wide application in:

• Electrical installations in methane and coal dust mines (degree "a", "b" or "c" and class "A" or "B")
• Transmission of energy in difficult industrial conditions

Operating parameters and safety

The YHKGX SEkyn cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range – from -30°C to +70°C, and the maximum conductor temperature during operation can reach 90°C. In the event of a short circuit, the conductor withstands a temperature of up to 250°C. The test voltage of the cable is 11 kV. The minimum bending radius is 15 times the cable diameter, which facilitates assembly even in tight spaces. Thanks to the materials used and the construction, the cable meets stringent fire safety standards (PN-EN 60332-1 and PN-EN 60332-3-24 / IEC 60332-3).

Thanks to the conductor cross-section of 240 mm², this cable is ideal for transmitting large currents and powering demanding devices. The construction with double shielding minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable energy transmission.
