M-BUS Wired Module for Heat Meter – IR-MB-PULSE

The IR-MB-PULSE module enables integration of data from additional meters—water, gas, electricity, or heat—directly into the HYDROCAL M4, HYDRODIGIT M1, HYDRODIGIT S1, or HYDROSONIC M1 heat meter. It acts as a bridge between pulse outputs of external meters and the M-Bus network, allowing all utility readings to be retrieved from a single address.

It supports two pulse inputs—compatible with REED-type or open-collector transmitters. For the HYDROCAL M4, the module is an integral part of the system: all data from the heat meter and connected meters is transmitted over a single M-Bus line, simplifying installation and reading. For HYDRODIGIT S1 and HYDROSONIC, no configuration is required—simply mount the module and activate it with a magnet.

Parameter configuration (e.g., sensitivity, units, sampling frequency) is possible only with HYDROCAL M4 using the free Android app Bmetering NFC Config—just hold your phone against the device. Configuration is performed without requiring a computer or programming cables.

Power is supplied via the M-Bus network, requiring a voltage between 24V and 42V. In the absence of M-Bus power (e.g., in isolated installations), the module operates on a built-in lithium battery with an estimated lifespan of up to 10 years. IR data refresh occurs every 30 minutes; M-Bus query intervals must not be shorter than 15 minutes.

Measurement sensitivity ranges from 0.001 to 10 000 pulses per unit—ideal for high-precision heat and water meters. Pulse sampling frequency can be set to 10 Hz (default) or 25 Hz, allowing adaptation to rapidly changing flow conditions.

The connecting cable is 1.5 meters long and contains 5 cores, ensuring stable connectivity even over longer distances. The module is housed in an enclosure with IP65 protection rating—resistant to dust and water—making it suitable for technical rooms and humid environments.

Dimensions: 63 x 63 x 32 mm; weight: 185 g. Operating temperature range: +1°C to +55°C—safe for use in boiler rooms or central heating environments.

Transmission protocol: M-Bus EN13757-2/3, speed 2400 bps. Supported units: kWh, MWh, MJ, GJ, m³, and others—configurable flexibility enables seamless integration with diverse energy management systems.
