AQA Nano cartridge 240013153

Protection of installations against scale without loss of minerals

This polypropylene filter cartridge is a key component of the BWT AQA Nano system, designed to work in devices that protect water installations from limescale. Its primary task is to maintain the cleanliness of pipes and household appliances while preserving the natural mineral composition of the water. Thanks to the use of unique nanocrystalline technology, the system does not remove calcium and magnesium from the water, but rather changes their structure so that they do not deposit on the pipe walls. The water remains chemically hard, but becomes "non-scaling," which translates to a longer lifespan for boilers, water heaters, or washing machines.

Replacement of this cartridge is necessary after filtering approximately 110 m³ of water or at the latest after 12 months from installation – this is a standard procedure for devices operating in continuous mode. The manufacturer has provided a mechanism that informs about the need for service, eliminating the risk of forgetting maintenance. This cartridge works with the microprocessor control of the main device, which automatically monitors flow and operating time. It is worth noting that the system operates maintenance-free in terms of discharge – it does not require a connection to the sewage system or manual flushing of the filter column.

Practical benefits and application in domestic installations

The use of this cartridge in the AQA Nano system brings measurable results for both the installer and the end user. For the installer, it means easier installation (the device is ready for wall mounting) and no need to design additional flushing circuits. For the resident, it primarily means protection from the effects of hard water:

  • No scale buildup: Prevents the formation of limescale layers in pipes, maintaining full installation capacity even with water hardness up to 20°dH.
  • Health protection: Clean pipes mean a lower risk of bacterial growth, such as Legionella, which often develops in scale layers.
  • Daily comfort: Better water quality affects the taste of food and the performance of cosmetics (less soap is required to create lather).
  • Appliance protection: Heating devices operate more efficiently and require less frequent repairs related to clogged heat exchangers.

The cartridge features a flow rate of 25 l/min, allowing for smooth supply to even several outlets simultaneously without a drop in pressure. Its polypropylene construction ensures chemical resistance and durability in a water environment. The element's dimensions (approx. 29 cm in length) have been adapted to fit into the compact housing of the AQA Nano device, facilitating installation in smaller boiler rooms or technical bathrooms.

Operating conditions and cartridge life cycle

To ensure the system operates correctly throughout the year, the guidelines for replacing the filter element must be followed. The cartridge with part number 240013153 is intended for devices working with water hardness up to 20°dH. Its lifespan is limited to 110 m³ of filtered water or one year of use – replacement occurs whenever either of these limits is reached first.

The element is made of polypropylene, which guarantees resistance to chemical factors present in drinking water and ensures a long service life in demanding operating conditions. The physical dimensions of the cartridge are approximately 29 cm in length, 14 cm in width, and 8 cm in height; this design allows for a perfect fit into the compact housing of the AQA Nano model without the need to interfere with the existing infrastructure of the technical room. A maximum flow rate of 25 liters per minute ensures stable pressure even when opening several outlets in the house simultaneously. The device is equipped with an LED display or other electronic indicators that signal the needto replace the cartridge after reaching the flow or operating time limit – this means the user does not have to manually count cubic meters or remember the annual replacement. Regular replacement with a new unit is essential to maintain the effectiveness of protection against calcium and magnesium scale; failure to replace on time can lead to a decrease in system efficiency and the risk of scale formation in critical areas of the building's water supply installation.
