This specialized slipping agent, designed for blowing fiber optic cables, significantly facilitates and speeds up the installation process, especially over long distances. GLISS WM-1 is a reliable solution for both professional installers and companies involved in the expansion of telecommunications networks. It reduces friction between the cable and the duct, lowering the force required for blowing and enabling installation over greater distances.

Properties and application

GLISS WM-1 has been developed for pneumatic installation of fiber optic cables in plastic ducts. It is also suitable for pneumatic installation of microduct bundles in cable ducts. Its excellent slipping properties also allow for effective use in mechanical pulling of copper, fiber optic and coaxial cables. The preparation creates a thin lubricating layer that does not cause the cable to stick to the inner surface of the duct, which facilitates subsequent service and maintenance work. The use of the preparation can reduce the resistance at the point of contact between the cable and the pipeline by up to 80%, which translates into saving time and energy during assembly.

Method of use and characteristics

The preparation is easy to apply. In the case of pneumatic installation, the appropriate amount of preparation should be introduced into the pipeline and spread evenly using compressed air. When mechanically pulling cables, the preparation is applied directly to the cable before inserting it into the duct. It is recommended to use a sponge roller placed inside the microduct and to plug the ends with a sponge during distribution to ensure even coverage.

GLISS WM-1 is characterized by a white color, odorless and a viscosity of approximately 3500 cP. Its density is 1.00 g/cm³, pH is 7.0, and the preparation is non-flammable. It can be used at temperatures from -15°C to 50°C – it is non-toxic and biodegradable.

Available in packages: 1 kg bottles and 5 kg and 20 kg cans – choosing the right package allows you to adjust the amount of preparation to the needs of a specific project. The consumption of the preparation ranges from 0.5 kg to 2 kg per kilometer of installation, depending on the diameter and weight of the cable and the diameter of the pipeline.
