The CHE-I termination utilizes a combination of slide-on and heat-shrinkable components, ensuring fast, easy, and safe installation. A key structural element is the silicone electric field control elements on the screen ends, which effectively eliminate electric field concentration and prevent the formation of partial discharges.

The heat-shrinkable materials used in the construction are characterized by high resistance to tracking currents and atmospheric influences. After shrinking, the heat-shrink tubes provide constant radial pressure and complete elimination of air voids, which is crucial for maintaining insulation parameters over decades of operation.

Compatibility and versatility of applications

The product is designed to work with X(R)(U)H(A)KXS and YH(A)KXS type cables having different types of insulation screens - graphitized, extruded, or strippable. The termination also works perfectly with cables having a return conductor made of copper wires or tapes.

The kit contains all the necessary components for professional installation: silicone electric field control elements, sealing mastic, heat-shrink tubes resistant to tracking currents and atmospheric influences, and silicone hoods. Additionally, a detailed installation manual is included, covering all technical aspects of the installation.

Compliance with European standards

The CHE-I series terminations are designed and tested according to the strict requirements of the CENELEC HD 629.1 standard, which specifies technical parameters for cable accessories for rated voltages from 3.6/6(7.2) kV to 20.8/36(42) kV. Compliance with these standards is confirmed by successful completion of load cycle tests, voltage tests, and sealing tests.

The product meets the requirements for systems with a maximum voltage of Um = 24kV (U0/U = 12/20(24) kV), ensuring safe operation in typical medium voltage applications found in the power and industrial sectors.

Installation and operation

Correct installation of the termination requires proper cable preparation - removing semi-conductive layers according to the manufacturer's instructions and precisely recreating the electric field control using the included control elements.

When shrinking the heat-shrink tubes, a gas torch with a soft yellow flame should be used, starting from the bottom of the termination and moving upwards to avoid trapping air bubbles. Minimum air insulation clearances must also be maintained after installing the termination in a switchgear.

The product is characterized by an unlimited shelf life without loss of technical parameters, which facilitates procurement planning for larger investment projects.
