Segmental anchor BAZ 12x163 galvanized – a solution for difficult installation locations
The BAZ 12x163 galvanized anchor is a structural fastening element for concrete, designed for use in conditions where space is limited and high load-bearing capacity is required. The length of 163 mm and effective embedment depth of 70 mm allow for secure anchoring even in thin concrete elements, while maintaining a minimum structural thickness of 140 mm.
The M12 thread is long, providing flexibility during installation: it can be screwed in deeper if greater stability is needed, or only partially when depth space is limited. This is important when working in existing structures where the hole location cannot be changed.
It has been certified in accordance with the European Technical Assessment (ETA), meaning its load-bearing capacity has been verified in both cracked and uncracked concrete, including under seismic loading (category C1). This is not a "standard" anchor—it is an element approved for critical applications.
Installation requires a 20 mm diameter hole and a setting torque of 20 Nm. No special tools are needed—a drill and a 17 mm wrench are sufficient. The process is simple, but it cannot be rushed: incorrect torque can lead to anchor damage or improper load distribution.
The minimum edge distance (105 mm) and spacing between anchors (210 mm) must be maintained. If these distances are smaller, the load-bearing capacity decreases. This is not a suggestion—it is a safety requirement specified in the ETA approval.
Galvanization provides corrosion resistance in indoor environments and areas with moderate humidity. It is not suitable for atmospheric exposure or aggressive environments—for such cases, A4 or HD versions are available.
This is not an anchor for light loads. It is a tool for securing heavy structures: masts, machinery, ventilation systems, or load-bearing elements—where there is no room for error.
