Concrete screw with hex head – fast, reusable, approved
The BTS 6x55 screw with a hex head is a solution designed for quick and reliable fastening in cracked or uncracked concrete, especially in non‑structural applications. It is primarily intended for mounting rails, metal profiles, handrails or lighting fixtures – no special tools are required, and its design allows installation in two steps: drilling and tightening – all with a single tool.
It provides immediate load capacity after installation, eliminating the need to wait for adhesive curing or other anchoring methods. The possibility of disassembly and reuse is a key advantage when modifying installations or correcting mounting errors – there is no need to remove and fill the holes.
Design and durability
Made of hardened steel and coated with a zinc‑aluminum flake coating, it offers high corrosion resistance – particularly important for outdoor installations or humid environments. The hex head with an integrated washer (14 mm diameter) distributes the load, preventing substrate damage and facilitating tightening even in confined spaces. The SW10 socket is compatible with most standard socket wrenches and SDS+ accessories.
Two anchoring depths (35 mm or 50 mm) provide flexibility: the shorter version reduces the risk of hitting reinforcement bars in thin slabs or old structures, while the longer version allows higher loads in thicker substrates. Suitable for concrete C20/25 and higher as well as prefabricated reinforced channel plates.
Application and safety
ETA approval and CNBOP certification confirm compliance with European standards for mechanical anchors. The allowable load is 0.85 kN at a 35 mm depth and 1.90 kN at a 50 mm depth – sufficient for most non‑structural applications. Minimum edge distance (40 mm) and spacing (40 mm) must be observed; exceeding these values requires load reduction.
Installation requires a special SDS+ drill Ø6 mm with an effective length of 105 mm and a suitable SW10 socket wrench. It is not suitable for low‑strength concrete or porous materials. The screw does not generate expanding pressure – it does not damage the hole during tightening.
