Metal plug for mounting in hollow cavities

The HRM 5mm plug is designed for permanent mounting on panels with a thickness of 14 to 32 mm – it performs exceptionally well in gypsum board, particleboard, or fiberboard, as well as in suspended ceilings and cavity walls. Its design enables secure fastening even in thin, hollow structures where traditional screws are ineffective.

After insertion, the rear portion of the plug expands over a large area, creating stable resistance inside the panel. This not only increases load capacity but also eliminates the risk of pull-out under static or dynamic loads – such as when installing shelves, hooks, or curtain rods.

Installation is simple: a standard screwdriver or cordless drill can be used. However, for efficiency and precision – especially when installing multiple plugs – it is recommended to use the MZA 100 installation pliers. This tool ensures controlled expansion of the plug without risking panel damage or misalignment.

As a metal component, it meets Class A1 fire resistance according to DIN EN 13501-1 (formerly DIN 4102) and holds CNBOP approval – meaning it can be safely used in buildings requiring fire safety compliance, with no risk of flame propagation.

No additional components such as nuts or threaded rods are required – it functions as a self-contained anchoring system. Ideal for applications where heavy loads must be secured, but access to the rear side of the panel is not possible.
