Metal Sleeve 8x38 mm MSD – Solution for Gas Installations and Hard Substrates
The MSD 8x38 mm dowel is a metal sleeve with surface serrations, designed for anchoring in construction materials where plastic dowels are prohibited or insufficient. It is a specific component for gas installation applications – in accordance with TRGI 3.3.7.2 – using a suitable threaded screw (to be purchased separately).
Anchoring works via mechanical expansion within the hole, while the surface teeth ensure grip even in difficult materials: concrete, solid brick, stone, and AAC2 cellular lightweight concrete. In some cases – especially when anchoring in AAC2 – pre-drilling the hole is not required.
The CNBOP approval confirms its compliance with Polish construction requirements for static loads. This is not merely a component "for conduits" – it can be used to secure clamps, cables, fiber optics, or other lightweight elements requiring a solid substrate.
For the Installer: Simplicity and Safety
- No special tools required – only a hammer and a suitable screw (6–8 mm) are needed, though installation in concrete can be faster than with plastic dowels.
- Galvanized steel – corrosion-resistant, suitable for humid environments and long-term applications.
- Anchoring depth 38 mm, drill hole diameter 10–12 mm – parameters are clear and leave no room for errors.
- Non-combustible – meets fire resistance class A1 (DIN 4102), which is crucial when installing in insulation systems or near gas installations.
For the End User: Durability Without Compromise
If you want the anchoring to remain stable for years – do not choose plastic where it is not permitted. This dowel does not age due to temperature or moisture. It does not expand over time like some nylon sleeves. It does not crack under impact. It does not bend under load.
In aerated concrete, it acts like an "anchored nail" – with no risk of pull-out. In solid brick or stone, it ensures that pipe or cable clamps will not detach after a few years.
This is not a "cheap dowel." It is a solution for situations where installation errors can have consequences.
