Threaded rod for VA chemical anchors

The threaded rod 20 x 260 mm (920260AST) is designed exclusively for use with VA chemical ampoules – it does not function as a standalone anchor. Its sharpened tip is used to mechanically break the glass ampoule during installation, allowing the resin, hardener and additives to mix inside the hole. Without this special tip installation is impossible.

It is made of galvanized steel, providing corrosion resistance in outdoor and humid conditions. A nut and washer are supplied as standard – no need to purchase them separately. Each rod is supplied in a box with an insertion tool (hex socket screw SW30), which enables precise tightening using a drill with rotation‑hammer function.

Application and installation requirements

The rod is intended for fastening heavy elements – such as guardrail, steel structures or industrial equipment – in uncracked concrete. It requires a hole with a diameter of 25 mm and a depth of 170 mm, with an effective embedment depth of exactly 170 mm. Minimum thickness of the element to be fastened (tfix) is 70 mm.

Installation is performed by rotating the rod in the hole while applying a light impact – this activates the chemical reaction between the ampoule and the concrete. The rod must not be used with other types of ampoules or without them.

Approvals and reliability

Approved by the European Technical Assessment (ETA) – confirming its performance and safety under static loads. For the installer this means: no need for additional certificates on site, and for the end customer – a guarantee that the fixing meets European standards. The service life of the system is at least 2.5 years when installed correctly.
